Delighted that my film "NOT IN IOWA ANYMORE" was chosen for the Iowa-Nebraska Film Festival. Although I was not able to attend - another film of mine was in another festival in AZ that same day, I was so honored to be a part of the 2026 line-up.
Iowa is dear to my heart, it's where I grew up and the "NOT IN IOWA ANYMORE" story makes connections to Clarinda IA and Hollywood star Marilyn Maxwell, who was born in Clarinda.
Communication with De Heaton was clear and lovely. The charming venue is definitely a draw.
I look forward to submitting to this festival again!

My film "Fridays" was an official selection at the 2026 festival , and we had a delightful time. The organizers were very personable, helpful and attentive. And it was in such a delightful venue at the historic Corning Iowa Opera house. The town itself was incredible for such a tiny town. The Corning Hotel and the Primrose resturant were first class. We enjoyed sharing our film and connecting with all the other film makers and talking shop ! A delightful experience and my favorite Iowa festival that we have attended !

This young film festival was a lot of fun. The team that put it together were kind and hard-working. There weren't a lot of people there, but the ones who are were enjoyable to visit with. I think I made some good connections and it is a festival that I would definitely recommend. I will submit my films to this festival in the future.

Thanks for your kind words! We hope to grow our attendance as more filmmakers and people learn about southwest Iowa! We look forward to seeing more of your films!

  • The Iowa–Nebraska Festival is a welcoming, community-focused event that celebrates Midwest storytelling. While smaller in scale, it stands out for its supportive atmosphere and strong connection between filmmakers and audiences. For this being a small-town festival many restaurants and places to explore!
