We LOVE independent films! From the shoe-string budget, to the crowd funded, to the indie moguls. This is our 16th year and we are excited to share even more incredible movies with passionate audiences in the heart of Wales.

To date we have screened over 450 independent movies and awarded over 75 awards to more than 50 different film-makers, from a variety of countries around the world, to audiences in the thousands.

We do not require the films be UK premieres, we simply want great films, that will be enjoyed by our supportive local audience and we top the Screenings off with an Awards Ceremony and our infamous After Party!

A disappointing mess that feels a bit like a cash grab. Multiple films were missing vital audio channels - almost certainly a technical error in accidentally converting 5.1 audio to stereo. There was no welcome desk, no networking, no communication during the week. Several screenplay writers had travelled long distance only to find out the awards ceremony aspect was non-existent.
The single screening with extensive Q&A by a very knowledgable host was the one redeeming factor.

  • This FF was a Disappointment. They sent out a selection of screenplays but never picked as winner? I heard through the grapevine that there wasn't even a Festival? I've reached out numerous times but haven't heard a thing. I had a bad vibe with this one from the beginning. I'll pass on this one going forward.

  • Submitted my screenplay which was selected to be apart of the festival. No communication even after two emails trying to figure out details. I live in the U.S. so was curious about an online component, but no luck. The event has come and gone, and none of the winners are on their website yet. No feedback on my screenplay, no communication about networking, nothing. Starting to feel like most fests on this site are for money laundering.

This film festival, despite having been around for many years completely screwed up the organisation of its most recent event in Wrexham. And instead of cancelling the event and refunding people, they went ahead with it, but did so in a venue which was wholly unsuitable, had no networking (which is filmmakers had to organise ourselves afterwards) and cancelled the awards ceremony, which is why most filmmakers came.

I’m terribly disappointed by this and I don’t recommend to anyone that they submit their work and pay for this festival. An organiston that had been going as long as it has, should’ve been much better organised.
