Indie Spotlight: Film & Conversation is a monthly screening series created to uplift and celebrate independent filmmakers based in Mississippi. Each event features a curated selection of independent films followed by a live Q&A session with the filmmakers, offering a space for authentic dialogue and connection.

Our mission is to build a consistent, community-driven platform where Mississippi storytellers can share their work with engaged audiences—without waiting for the next big festival. Indie Spotlight also serves as a gathering space for film lovers who crave bold, original cinema and want to support the voices shaping Mississippi’s creative future.

Eligibility:
• Submissions are open to filmmakers currently based in Mississippi.
• All genres are welcome.
• Films must be independently produced.

Exhibition Format:
• Films must be available in high-quality digital format for public screening (e.g., .mp4, .mov, ProRes).

Length & Language:
• Films must have a minimum runtime of 45 minutes and a maximum runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
• Non-English films must have English subtitles.

Submission Terms:
• You must own all rights to the submitted material and be authorized to grant us permission to screen the film.
• By submitting, you give Indie Spotlight: Film & Conversation the right to screen your film at a public event and use brief clips or stills for promotional purposes (with proper credit).
• Submission does not guarantee selection.

Fees & Selection:
• There is no submission fee at this time.
• Selected filmmakers will be notified via email.
• All selections are final and at the discretion of the programming team.

This is a monthly event, so there is no set deadline. Please feel free to submit your film at any time for consideration in an upcoming screening.
