Imprópria is a Gender Equality Film Festival happening in Ponta Delgada from the 21st to the 23rd of October 2021.

Its third edition will consist of an event of social and cultural intervention that aims to influence and educate an audience diverse in its age and social-economic status.

We want to defy the conventional and show the contemporary Azores, interested in innovative cultural dynamics, through the screening of films regarding the subject and the promotion of debates around it.

The purpose of the festival is to bring afloat the Gender Equality thematic and the struggle against prejudices and social stereotypes. It’s our understanding that the screening of films about the subject is an effective medium of exposing and discussing these topics.

We hope to stimulate discussion among our audience through film screenings. We aim to accentuate the cinema of feminist nature through the exhibition of fiction, documentary or experimental films.

In a time where the art world aims to end gender disparity, we want to be a pillar on the island and on the country for expression and artistic creation.

No prize, but we are willing to pay for the exhibition of the films.
