Overall Rating
  • May have been good in previous years, but in 2021 it essentially seems to be a fake festival. Although I was selected and apparently recieved an 'honourable mention' on FF I recieved no communication from this festival whatsoever, nor did they request to download my film. Be careful if you choose to submit.

    A very strange festival.

I accidentally found out, that my film won an award via a facebook posting. I first thought that it was a scam. I was never contacted by the organizers nor invited. I have no idea how they managed to screen the film.

After I contacted the festival I received a strange answer by an anonymous email, demanding me to pay 25 Euros to receive the award. I never received an answer to my complaint.

Actually I'm still not sure if this festival is just a scam.

  • Bucovina international film festival is organised by people who love films and filmmakers. The environment is just great. Many thanks to Sergei Skobun and his team for the event!
PS. The red-carpet closing ceremony is spectacular both due to the participants and the venue: google the Chernivtsi National University, and you’ll understand what I mean.
