IMMAGI]NA Film Festival è una piattaforma internazionale dedicata al cinema sperimentale e alla videodanza, organizzata e promossa da ArtGarage, centro coreografico di produzione delle arti performative contemporanee con sede a Pozzuoli (Campania, Italia). Giunto all’ottava edizione, il festival esplora l’interazione tra corpo, immagine e nuovi linguaggi audiovisivi, presentando opere che ridefiniscono i confini tra danza e cinema.

Riconosciuto dalla Film Commission Regione Campania, IMMAGI]NA si è affermato come uno dei principali festival italiani del settore, con una call internazionale su FilmFreeway che ogni anno raccoglie centinaia di candidature da tutto il mondo. La VII edizione (2025) ha premiato opere provenienti da Repubblica Ceca, Svizzera, Spagna e Portogallo, confermando la vocazione globale dell’iniziativa.

Oltre alle proiezioni, il festival propone workshop, performance, talk e incontri con artisti e studiosi, in collaborazione con scuole e accademie. IMMAGI]NA FF è un luogo di scambio, ricerca e formazione dove la sperimentazione audiovisiva diventa strumento di dialogo culturale, rigenerazione territoriale e crescita artistica condivisa.

IMMAGI]NA Film Festival is an international platform dedicated to experimental film and dance for camera, organized and promoted by ArtGarage, a choreographic center for contemporary performing arts based in Pozzuoli (Campania, Italy). Now in its 8th edition, the festival explores the intersection of body, image, and new audiovisual languages, showcasing works that blur the boundaries between dance and cinema.

Recognized by the Campania Region Film Commission, IMMAGI]NA has established itself as one of Italy’s leading festivals in the field, with an international call on FilmFreeway that attracts hundreds of submissions from all over the world. The 7th edition (2025) awarded films from the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal, confirming its global reach and artistic relevance.

In addition to screenings, the festival features workshops, live performances, talks, and meetings with artists and scholars, in collaboration with schools and academies. IMMAGI]NA FF is a space for exchange, research, and creative growth — where experimental filmmaking and dance merge into a shared exploration of contemporary art.

IMMAGI]NA Film Festival seleziona e premia opere che esplorano il dialogo tra danza, corpo e immagine in movimento, valorizzando la ricerca artistica e la sperimentazione visiva.
Le opere vengono valutate da una giuria internazionale composta da registi, coreografi, critici e curatori di rilievo nel panorama della danza e del cinema sperimentale.

Categorie ufficiali 2026:
🎬 Experimental Film – Opere di cinema sperimentale (5–50 min) che indagano nuovi linguaggi visivi, poetici o narrativi.
💃 Dance for Camera – Short Film – Videodanze (1–15 min) che esplorano il movimento attraverso la regia cinematografica.
🎥 Dance for Camera – Documentary – Documentari (5–50 min) su processi creativi, autori o linguaggi coreografici contemporanei.
🎨 Animated Films – Opere d’animazione sperimentale (3–30 min) che coniugano danza, arte e sperimentazione visiva.
🎧 Videoclip – Video musicali (fino a 8 min) con una forte componente artistica e sperimentale.

IMMAGI]NA Film Festival honors works that explore the dialogue between dance, body, and moving image, promoting artistic research and visual experimentation.
All films are reviewed by an international jury of acclaimed directors, choreographers, critics, and curators from the fields of dance and experimental cinema.

Official Categories 2026:
🎬 Experimental Film – Experimental films (5–50 min) exploring innovative visual or narrative languages.
💃 Dance for Camera – Short Film – Dance films (1–15 min) focusing on the relationship between choreography and cinematic direction.
🎥 Dance for Camera – Documentary – Documentaries (5–50 min) on dance processes, artists, or contemporary choreographic practices.
🎨 Animated Films – Experimental animation (3–30 min) merging dance, art, and visual research.
🎧 Videoclip – Artistic or experimental music videos (up to 8 min).

Rules & Terms

Le opere presentate a IMMAGI]NA Film Festival 2026 dovranno rispettare i seguenti requisiti:
- essere prodotte dal 2023 in poi;
- non superare la durata massima indicata per la categoria di riferimento;
- essere di proprietà dell’autore e protette da copyright;
- essere realizzate in qualità Full HD (1920×1080) o superiore;
- rientrare in una delle categorie ufficiali del festival (Experimental Film, Dance for Camera, Animated Films, Videoclip);
- includere sottotitoli in inglese se in lingua diversa dall’inglese o dall’italiano;
- autorizzare la proiezione pubblica nell’ambito del festival e l’utilizzo di estratti a fini promozionali.

Le quote di iscrizione non sono rimborsabili. La selezione ufficiale sarà annunciata sul sito e sui canali social del festival. Gli autori delle opere selezionate riceveranno comunicazione ufficiale via e-mail.
L’iscrizione implica l’accettazione integrale del presente regolamento.

Submitted works for IMMAGI]NA Film Festival 2026 must comply with the following requirements:
- be produced from 2023 onwards;
- not exceed the maximum duration specified for the selected category;
- be copyrighted and owned by the submitting artist;
- be in Full HD (1920×1080) quality or higher;
- fit into one of the official festival categories (Experimental Film, Dance for Camera, Animated Films, Videoclip);
- include English subtitles if the film is not in English or Italian;
- authorize public screening within the festival and the use of short excerpts for promotional purposes.

Submission fees are non-refundable. The official selection will be announced on the festival’s website and social media. Selected filmmakers will receive an official notification via e-mail.
Submission implies full acceptance of these rules and terms.

    Winning our first People’s Choice Award (Premio Giuria Popolare) with EDGE has been one of the most special moments of our journey. For us, this recognition holds an immense emotional value. There is no greater honor than knowing that the people sitting in front of the screen has connected with the idea that the film wants to convey and has been moved by it. It’s the kind of recognition that reminds you why you make films in the first place.

    Thank you for including Witches Cradle in your festival. The Immagina Film Festival was impressively well-organized, with clear and timely communication throughout the entire process. Although I wasn’t able to attend, I could tell from the updates and attention to detail that the team put in tremendous effort to make the festival a seamless experience for filmmakers. My only suggestion would be to incorporate a Zoom meet-up for international directors to connect and exchange ideas. This would be a wonderful opportunity for us to learn from each other and build a stronger creative community, even if we can’t all be there in person. Thank you.
