The Independent Horror Society has been dedicated to supporting grassroots horror cinema for over 10 years, and we're so proud to have over 2,000 committed horror fans and filmmakers in our ranks.

We have launched the Indie Film Showcase to do what we love best -- bringing incredible short genre films from hugely talented filmmakers, to the wonderful UK horror community.

Over the past couple of years, the Indie Film Showcase has been an annual selection of films, premiered in London and then taken on tour across the UK in places such as Manchester, Brighton, Bristol and York.

But with so many incredible films being submitted to us and seen every year, it's getting harder and harder to fit in everything that we want to screen! So as of now, we're switching to TWO separate showcase line ups every year -- the next of which will premiere at The Genesis Cinema in London in July 2026, before once again being taken on the road.

So join us for another evening of fun, meeting new friends, networking, and of course -- over 2 solid hours of incredible short films.

Long live indie horror!

Skully's Choice Award -- Awarded to the best UK short film of the showcase, as voted for by the selection panel, and the audience.

Best International Short -- Awarded to the best non-UK short film of the showcase.

Eligibility and Submission Rules: Films must be under 30 minutes in length.

Unless you are a member of the IHS Pro service, there is a submission fee to enter your film. All submissions are final, and there are no refunds. You may enter as many films as you wish. Each entry requires a separate submission form, fee and upload. Please note we only accept online screeners.

Selection Procedure - Submitted films are viewed by two or more members of the Independent Horror Society. Every film selected is at the discretion of the IHS team, and their decision is final. All successful applicants will be notified via e-mail.

Delivery: Delivery instructions will be provided once selection is confirmed. All delivery will be digital.

  • I couldn't be happier that my short film, Pleased to Kill You, is part of this year's showcase. The IHS team has been fabulous, putting together an amazing selection of shorts and securing the first London screening in one of the most beautiful independent cinemas in the world! It was lovely to get some time afterwards for a Q&A and get to meet so many talented filmmakers. Thank you, IHS
