• Films must be the exact length of assigned time slot. 1 minute films must be 1 minute, 3 minute films must be 3 minutes and 5 minute films must be 5 minutes no more no less.
• Credits are not required on your final film and can be included or not for 1,3,5 at filmmaker's discretion but please make sure to fill out the credits section of Filmfreeway for your film to be eligible for all awards including acting and cinematography, we aren't able to give an award to an uncredited person.
• The Entrant should not distribute their entry/video in any way prior to it receiving its official 1,3,5 premiere screening. This includes uploading the video publicly to any website. Once the competition has completed filmmakers own full rights to distribute and screen their films as they please.
• IFCKC asks that filmmakers include in final credits of their film that it was created for an IFCKC Film Competition.
• All films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English for festival presentation.
• Filmmakers must own rights to their film and all its components prior to submitting their film for consideration.
• IFCKC is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. By submitting your film, you grant the IFCKC the right to use still images and short video clips (less than 30 seconds) of all accepted films in any festival promotional materials,
DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 stills from the film are required for promotion of the film.
• We need downloads available immediately so please have Download Permissions turned on for "Festivals that I submit to may download my video."
JUDGING RUBRIC:
Entries will be judged by a group of industry veterans based on the following criteria:
Rules Adherence – 33%
Originality, Visual Style, and Storytelling – 33%
Film language and Technical Merit – 33%
LEGAL:
• The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The individual or corporation submitting the film shall indemnify and hold harmless the Independent Filmmakers Coalition from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) that may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
