ICAFF, the world's first animal companion film festival, was launched in 2016, and it is held in South Korea.

Companion animals are animals who share our homes and lives. Because we consider these animals to be part of our family, companion animals enjoy more legal protections than other animals. Legally, the category is often limited to dogs and cats, but may also include birds, horses, parrots, and other animals as well.

Through our film festival, we strive to showcase the special bonds we have with our companion animals.

대단히 감사합니다 to the fantastic team at the International Companion Animal Festival! It was such a wonderful opportunity to have my film "The Last Mahout" featured as the grand prize winner at the festival, truly a great honour. I am very grateful to the festival Founder Mr. Kim Jae-Suu, Festival Director Mr. Lee Seon Beom and the brilliant Debora Paik who supported me throughout the process. I sadly couldn't attend the festival in person but felt very much involved in the celebrations. I want to thank ICAFF for giving us all the opportunity to enter and share our stories about the wonderful relationship humans have with their pet/animal companions. At a time when the world is going through challenging times it's important to remember how important our connection with the natural world is and the joy animals bring into our lives. We are intrinsically connected to all living things, which is why it is so important for humans as sentient intelligent beings to respect and protect wildlife for future generations as well as the lives of the countless numbers of incredible species we share our home with. I hope everyone enjoyed the event in person this year, many thanks to ICAFF for hosting our films and selecting The Last Mahout for the grand prize! I am certain Vee will be thrilled to hear his story has touched many people. Many thanks again to Debora for all her support and coordinating the event so diligently, hope to meet you in person one day!
