HyperHacktive Festival is a short film festival celebrating and supporting independent scene of artists, film makers, directors, with a strong community driven spirit.
Growing slowly since 2023, and organized by Samouraï Crew (www.samourai.world), this event is giving birth to an independent super-creative community of young directors, technicians, producers, designers, artists, who decided to support short films, animation, documentaries, experimental works, and even AI-assisted creations from visionary filmmakers around the world.

The Festival is not a competition itself, but a way to discover awesome students, artists, directors & film crews from all over the world. If the selection is made by the Samouraï crew, at the end, it's always the Hyper Hacktive community who choose the Top #3 Awarded movies which will receive community support and more budget for upcoming creations.

Our mission as community & founders is to showcase stories and aesthetics that challenge conventions, explore new media, and spark conversations about the future of filmmaking.
Our audience is composed of french public from Paris (80%), and 20% english speaking guests & public.

We always accept english speaking short films, but we will priorise directors providing french subtitles.

Each edition features:
1. A meet-up gathering all community members & professionals in a bar, Paris
2. Selection of 8 movies screenings in MK2 Cinema - Quai de la Loire - Paris
3. An after party, to discuss films, projects, networking, party.

Awards & Prizes

A selection of 8 films by edition are presented in a MK2 Cinema (Quai de la Loire, Paris) to a growing community (500 people by screening).

Top #3 - Best Hyper Hacktive Awards are decided by the community after the event, through participants votes directly a dedicated Hyper Hacktive Festival application.

Once the Hyper Hacktive community awarded the top #3 films, directors will be interviewed by Samouraï crew for a promotion of their works on Samouraï TV, and their film will be promoted through all official channels & social networks of Samouraï crew and Hyper Hacktive community. Directors will also receive a potential new grant budget for a next edition short film proposal.

Rules & Terms

Organised every year by the Samouraï Coop crew, the HyperHacktive Festival to gather its community into a community event mixing cinema screening with 8 presented films, 1 meetup & 1 afterparty to encourage networking between young directors, professionals, and passionate film activists, artists, technicians.
This event is made to support the independent scene, in a pure community spirit, and facilitating cooperations, connexions, and promotion of future of film making.
The all event is organized through a dedicated application allowing participants to connect, debate, discuss, and votes for the best films.
All selected short films by the Samouraï team are screened at the Hyper Hacktive Festival, and promoted by the all community on social networks after the event date.
Participants of the event have 5 days after the screening in the cinema, to vote for the top #3 films they want to award, and then the 3 directors receive the awards + a potential budget for a next short film to be presented on the next edition.
Awarded Directors also unlock the right to distribute their movie on the Samouraï TV youtube channel to promote their movie, and have a short interview with Samouraï crew to present their story, works, and future project to the community.
