Hurghada Youth Film Festival is an annual festival organized by Funoon for Culture and Media Foundation in Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt.
Under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, supported by Egyptian and international public and private institutions, it aims at promoting Egyptian cinema, cinematic culture, and support the work of young filmmakers or tackles issues related to youth situation in Egypt and the world, as well as introducing cinematic works from various geographical regions.

Hurghada International Youth Film Festival awards are distributed as follows:
Feature Narrative Competition Awards:
*The Golden Award for Best Feature Film, awarded to the director.
*Silver Award for Best Feature Film, awarded to the director.
*Bronze Award for Best Feature Film, awarded to the director.
*Best screenplay award.
*Best Director Award.
*Best Actor Award.
*Best Actress Award.

Short Film Competition Awards:
*The Golden Award for Best Short Film, awarded to the director.
*Silver Award for Best Short Film, awarded to the director.
*Bronze Award for Best Short Film, awarded to the director.

Student Competition Prizes:
*The Golden Award for Best Student Film, awarded to the director.
*The Silver Award for Best Student Film, awarded to the director.
*The Bronze Award for Best Student Film, awarded to the director.

General conditions for participation in all sections of the festival:
*Films are shown in their original language with subtitles in English or Arabic (this should be noted)
*Arabic films are shown with English subtitles.
*It is absolutely not allowed to withdraw any of the films from the various competitions, after it has been programmed or during the festival.
*The festival accepts selected films in copies (DCP) or on (Blu-ray) discs.
*Each film participating in the festival will be screened two or three times (by special agreement), as a maximum.
*The festival has the right to show any film that participated in this session two or three times (by special agreement) after the festival in activities organized by the festival’s organizing institution in 2023 or 2024.
*The festival management undertakes to preserve the copies of the films received from the time they arrive at the Foundation’s headquarters and the festival office until they are shipped back to their countries.
*All conditions and dates specified in the previous articles are binding.
*You must send a high-quality DVD or link to watch the movie no later than July 1st, 2023.
*The entry form available on the festival website must be completed before July 1st, 2023.
Article 9
*Selected films should be sent with the subject of Hurghada International Youth Film Festiva before August 15, 2023.
*The selected films must be sent with the following publicity materials: the movie poster, three high-resolution images, an introductory brief about the film, its director and all data, as well as scenes from it for publicity purposes, publication on the festival’s website, catalog and official festival publications.
*The festival bears the costs of shipping films to Cairo, as well as the costs of returning them to their countries, within two weeks of the end of the festival’s activities, except for films that are sent to another festival, as the other festival bears the shipping costs
* The festival bears the costs of securing copies of films from their arrival at Cairo International Airport until their shipment.
* In the event of losing a copy of the film, the responsibility of the festival is within the limits of the value determined by the producer, and the festival must be informed of that within a maximum period of one month after the end of the festival, so that the producer’s right to the insurance company does not lapse.
