Submit your short film, documentary, music video, pilot, or web series and see your work on the big screen in Hollywood.... Florida.

We program films on a rolling basis, allowing more time to promote selected projects.

👉 Early submissions are strongly encouraged to improve your chances of selection.
👉 Films not selected for their initial festival may still be considered for future dates.

The Hollywhut!? $5 Film Festival is a grassroots, filmmaker-first screening event and an offshoot of the Hollywhut Film Festival and the Hollywhut Horror Film Festival.

Built to support and grow the South Florida filmmaking community, this festival is centered around connection, collaboration, and accessibility—both for filmmakers and audiences.

This is not a red carpet festival.
This is where creators meet their audience.

A filmmaker or representative must be present to participate, connect, and engage with the audience.

Select screenings include Q&As, discussions, and opportunities to meet fellow creatives.

Audience Choice Award
All official selections will be eligible for the Audience Choice Award, determined through live audience voting via QR code during the event.

This ensures a fair, transparent process where the films connect directly with the people they were made for—the audience.

The Audience Choice Award winner will receive:

Free, guaranteed admission into either the Hollywhut Film Festival or the Hollywhut Horror Film Festival

This provides a direct pathway to showcase your work at one of our larger, more established festival events.

Rules & Terms

Runtime Limit: All films must be 20 minutes or less.
Eligibility: Submissions are limited to filmmakers who are based in Florida or currently residing in Florida.
Attendance Requirement: A filmmaker must attend in person, or designate a representative to attend and participate in a Q&A.
Promotion Requirement: Selected filmmakers are required to provide social media handles and tag @hollywhut when promoting their film.
Community Participation: Filmmakers are encouraged to stay, engage, and network with fellow creators and attendees throughout the event.

All films are screened with permission from the submitting filmmakers.
Filmmakers are solely responsible for securing all necessary rights, licenses, and clearances for their work.
