The HALSNØY Short Film Festival is a new bi-monthly festival taking place on the beautiful island of Halsnøy, Norway.

This is our first year running, and our goal is simple: to showcase great short films from filmmakers around the world in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

One submission covers all categories, so there’s no need to submit separately for different awards.

We’re open to all genres and styles, from small experimental projects to more traditional narrative films. Above all else, we’re looking for strong filmmaking and original voices.

We’re excited to begin building the festival and to discover new filmmakers along the way.

The Halsnøy Short Film Festival awards outstanding short-form filmmaking across a focused selection of categories celebrating storytelling, craft, and cinematic voice.

Awards are presented in the following categories:
• Best Short Film
• Best Director
• Best Leading Performance
• Best Cinematography
• Best Sound Design
• Best Screenplay
• Audience Award

The winner of Best Short Film will receive a cash prize, along with official festival laurels and certificate recognition.

All selected films are automatically considered for every award category with a single submission.
