1) NAME OF THE COMPETITION
HAK-İŞ 5th International “Labour” Photography Competition
2) INSTITUTION ORGANIZING THE COMPETITION
It is organized by the Hak Trade Union Confederation (HAK-İŞ Confederation) with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is carried out by the HAK-İŞ Confederation Culture and Arts Committee.
3) TOPIC
The main theme was determined as "LABOR" in order to see the representation of labor in all areas of life in the art of photography.
4) PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION
a) The aim of the competition is to convey an artistic view of labor, the working conditions of laborers, the importance of labor in Turkey and the world, and the problems in working life to our society through art.
b) The competition aims to raise significant awareness by bringing the theme of labor to the agenda in the art world.
c) Based on the awareness that all jobs that involve people, labor and sweat are important and valuable, it is aimed to ensure that labor is discussed in a way that will contribute to the world of culture and art by adding a new dimension to the concept of worker through the theme of labor in the public opinion.
d) Those who are interested in the art of photography nationally and internationally, whether amateur or professional, are expected to take the theme of "EMEK" at the center of their work and create important works from an artistic perspective, on the occasion of our photography competition.
5) CATEGORY AND SECTIONS
a) Photographs can participate in the HAK-İŞ 5th International Labor Photography Competition in the color or Black and White category. Color or Black and White photographs will be evaluated together.
b) Applications can be made to the HAK-İŞ 5th International Labor Photography Contest with photographs taken with a mobile phone or professional camera. Photos taken with mobile phones and professional cameras will be evaluated in the same category, the main priority will be the theme.
c) National and international participants in the competition will be evaluated in two separate categories and awards will be determined.
6) GENERAL PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
a) Participation in the competition is free.
b) Competition; It is open to all amateurs or professionals, individuals over the age of 18 who are interested in the art of photography and living at home and abroad.
c) The same person can participate in the competition with a maximum of 3 (three) photographs.
d) Photographs that have previously placed in another competition or won an exhibition award can participate in the competition.
e) Some operations such as color, sharpness, saturation, dust removal, contrast adjustments and acceptable photographic interventions are allowed on photographs. The documentary structure of the photograph must not be changed. The opinion of the jury is essential in this matter.
f) Photographs created by montaging more than one photograph (collage) are not accepted into the competition.
g) All permissions and responsibilities regarding the use of manned or unmanned aerial vehicles such as drones for photography belong to the participant.
h) Panoramic photographs created by bringing more than one photograph side by side are accepted into the competition only on the condition that real images taken during the same period of time are used.
i) The participant accepts, declares and undertakes that the photographs he/she sends belong to him/her and that all permissions have been obtained, especially the permissions of the persons, institutions and places in the photographs. HAK-İŞ will not be responsible for any violation of rights resulting from failure to obtain permissions.
j) It is accepted that the institutions or people that can be seen in the photographs submitted to the competition have given permission to be photographed and sent to a competition, and to have the photograph published in visual, internet and printed media. The responsibility in this regard belongs to the author of the work. HAK-İŞ will not be responsible in case of any dispute that may arise.
k) Any person who makes any intervention or change on the photo he/she submits to the competition, aimed at making it appear as if it is his/her own work when it is not his/her own, and to mislead the HAK-İŞ Confederation, the organizing body of the competition, will be excluded from the competition.
l) HAK-İŞ has the right to cancel the awards and exhibition of the contestant who is found to have committed irregularities, even if he/she has placed in the ranking, and to take back the awards he/she has won.
m) The title and all other achievements of the artist whose award is canceled for any reason will be taken back. The reward slot is left empty. If a prize has been awarded, the prize winner must return the prize. In such a case, it does not create any claim rights for other contestants who have received or have not received an award.
n) The contestant participating in this competition is deemed to have accepted the rules and definitions regarding the competition.
o) The organizing committee may request from the participant the unprocessed original/raw files of the photographs that won awards and exhibitions and were purchased for the "HAK-İŞ 5th International EMEK Photographs Exhibition" to be held as a result of the competition.
p) The Organizing Committee may purchase any number of photographs that have not received awards or exhibition by paying a fee equal to the exhibition price. The opening of the exhibition and the printing of the winning works will be done by the HAK-İŞ Culture and Arts Committee.
q) At the end of the competition, the works that won awards and exhibitions can be turned into a printed book as the "HAK-İŞ 5th International Labor Photographs" catalog book. Owners of works who participate in the competition and win awards and exhibitions are deemed to have accepted their works to be included in the book, on the websites www.hakis.org.tr, www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr, social media accounts, and other written and printed publications of HAK-İŞ.
r) Competition results will be announced on www.hakis.org.tr and www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr websites and social media accounts; Additionally, all prize and exhibition winners will be notified via phone and/or e-mail.
7) COPYRIGHT (USE) RIGHTS:
a) Processing defined in Article 21 of the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works No. 5846, reproduction defined in Article 22, dissemination defined in Article 23, representation defined in Article 24 and 25, on the works that receive awards and exhibition at the end of the competition. The financial rights of transmission to the public by means of means used to transmit signs, sounds and/or images defined in the article will belong to HAK-İŞ Confederation together with the author of the work indefinitely.
b) Photographs that rank and receive awards and are deemed worthy of exhibition will remain in the HAK-İŞ Confederation archives. Competitors accept and undertake to transfer the copyrights arising from their photographs to the HAK-İŞ Confederation in return for the prize and exhibition fee specified in these specifications.
c) The mentioned photographs can be used exclusively and free of charge in the promotions and publications of the HAK-İŞ Confederation, without any place or content limitation, as of the date of the competition's conclusion, and can be used on the internet, visual and print media for the announcement of the competition results; It can be used in the "HAK-İŞ 5th International Labor Photographs" catalog book that can be printed at the end of the competition. During this period, the right to use the works will also belong to the author.
The Participant accepts at the time of application that he/she has no further rights or receivables from HAK-İŞ regarding these conditions and that he/she will not have any in the future.
d) All photos submitted must be taken by the contestant. All legal liability for copyright violations that may occur when images belonging to others are used as is or partially belongs to the participant.
e) It is the responsibility of the contestant to obtain permissions to take photographs of people, institutions and places that can be seen in the photographs sent to the competition and to send them to a competition and to publish the photograph in visual, internet and printed media. It is assumed that permissions have been obtained for the use of people, institutions and places in the photographs submitted to the competition. All responsibility for any disputes that may arise due to such uses belongs to the contestant. HAK-İŞ will not have any liability.
f) The awards specified in the specifications will be sent by the HAK-İŞ Confederation to the personal bank account/IBAN numbers of the beneficiaries, which they will notify in writing. If the right holder does not submit the necessary documents, especially his/her personal bank account/IBAN number, to the HAK-İŞ Confederation 1 month after the results are announced, payment will not be made. The rights holder cannot claim any reward, royalty, etc. due to the failure to make payment due to the delay in question.
g) Original slide positives, negatives or digital files of the award-winning and exhibited photographs purchased, which have not been tampered with in any way, must be ready to be sent to the competition committee upon request for review.
h) Photos that receive awards and exhibition in the competition will be published on HAK-İŞ Confederation's websites www.hakis.org.tr and/or www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr and social media accounts for promotional purposes and in accordance with the purpose of the competition.
i) Participants; By registering to the HAK-İŞ Confederation's website www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr or logging into the FilmFreeway system and submitting their photographs, they are deemed to have read and accepted the conditions of the competition, accepting that they are personally responsible for any legal or legal problems that may arise, without the need for a separate contract. In this context, they are deemed to have accepted and declared that they allow their photographs to be shown in all works of the HAK-İŞ Confederation and in environments where no commercial gain is made, without demanding any fee. This specification comes into force when the contestant submits their competition photos. Competitors do not have the right to object to the provisions of this specification later.
8) SENDING THE WORKS
a) In order to apply for the HAK-İŞ 4th “Emek” Photographs Competition, they must first register on the website www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr through the contestant login or apply by logging into the FilmFreeway system.
b) The photographs to be sent must be without mats and margins. Name, signature, logo, date, etc. related to the identity of the participant on the photograph. information should not be included, the participant must keep the original photo.
c) For any problems that may occur during registration or uploading to the www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr website to send photographs, information can be obtained from fotografyarismasi@hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr and the process can be followed. HAK-İŞ Confederation will not be responsible for any possible problems that may arise from uploading works via the www.hakisemekfotograflari.org.tr website or the FilmFreeway system.

10) COMPETITION CALENDAR

Selection Committee: The Selection Committee will be composed of experts and competent people in the field of photography by the HAK-İŞ Confederation Culture and Arts Committee, which has a command of the field. The final decision making authority will be the HAK-İŞ Confederation Board of Directors.
11) OTHER MATTERS
a) In other matters not specified in this specification and if the participation does not reach a certain number, the decision authority to make an evaluation or not belongs to the HAK-İŞ Confederation.
b) The conditions written in the specification are in Turkish and have been translated into English. In case of any dispute arising from translation, the Turkish text will prevail.
c) The right to make any changes to this specification belongs to the HAK-İŞ Confederation.
d) Participants in the competition are deemed to have accepted and approved these terms.
