The Humanity Rising Film Festival brings high school students from across the United States together to raise awareness and to foster solutions to the nation's bullying epidemic through the cinematic arts.

Why it’s Important: The Humanity Rising Film Festival is important not only because it brings rising filmmakers’ stories to the big screen, but because it is a way for young filmmakers to build an everlasting community for years to come. In a world of YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, there is a lack of communal spaces for youth to create and to express their uniqueness. This is why The Humanity Rising Film Festival exists as a space to provide young filmmakers with a broad community, networking opportunities, a space to share their views, and a way to be heard.

How it will Happen: An important part of The Humanity Rising Film Festival is equitability. The festival is free to submit, enter, and view, all with giving opportunities. This festival will implement measures such as selecting films based on their creativity, storytelling, and uniqueness, rather than technical ability or acting prowess. This is so that stories from all parts of the nation, whether it is Akron or Los Angeles, will be seen and heard.
