Hong Kong Architecture Micro Film Competition 2022

The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), the Organiser of the Hong Kong Architectural Micro Film Competition in collaboration with a jury of experts and professionals in architecture and cinema, will create a selection of micro films on architecture.

This single-stage design competition aims to collect innovative ideas and concepts through micro films that focus on
1) the relationship between Architecture and people and
2) the charisma of Hong Kong Architecture.

The Competition has the following visionary aims:
- To promote the merits of Hong Kong Architecture worldwide
- To discover and nurture the next currents in the creative industry of moving images
- To encourage cross-discipline aesthetics, knowledge, and creativity in the medium.

The theme of the HKIA 65th Anniversary Competition is

Architecture for People: Build our Dreams 人人建築 築動我城

We are committed to sharing and connecting with communities through this theme. Architecture goes beyond the buildings themselves, making them functional public art installations that have strong impacts on both people and the environment. Our Architecture is a reflection of our era, our aspirations, and our values. With this understanding, the Architectural Micro Film Competition 2022 encourages participants to create 3-5-min. micro films that capture and exhibit the essence and spirit of Hong Kong’s Architecture.

Winning entries will be awarded cash coupons and gifts. Selected entries will also be screened on social media and publicly.

Award presentation ceremony:
- Tentatively scheduled in 1st June 2023.
- Awarded entries will be screenplay in the ceremony and received awards from renowned architects/ filmmaker in HK.
- The awarded entries will be shown in TV channel and HKIA social media as well.
