【Details and Regulations】
(1) BASIC RULES & REGULATIONS
1.1 By submitting an application, the Entrant warrants that he/she/they owns the entire copyright of the film and/or has the right to authorize the public screening of the film at the 21st HKAFF. If the right of the Entry is owned or co-owned by any third parties, HKAFF reserves the right to request a written authorization for public screening of the film.
1.2 Entrants must ensure that the submitted film DO NOT infringe upon the rights and copyrights of any third party, and DO NOT violate any relevant laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
1.3 Works that have been showcased, entered, or have won prizes in other film festivals may also be accepted.
1.4 Once the application is submitted, no Entrant is allowed to withdraw unless with written consent from HKAFF.
1.5 HKAFF reserves the right to, and may at their absolute and sole discretion, disqualify any Entrant that submits false, misleading, dishonest or untrue information and/or failed to comply with the rules and regulations of this Call for Entry stipulated herein. The decisions of the HKAFF shall be final and conclusive.
1.6 Selection results will be updated on FilmFreeway on 20 September 2024. Unsuccessful submissions will not be notified individually.
1.7 A DCP with Chinese and English subtitles is required for screening if the film is selected.

(2) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2.1 ENTRY FEE
The Entry Fee is HK$100 for each film. It is not refundable under any circumstances.
2.2 SUBMISSION DEADLINE
22 August 2024
An Entry duly submitted shall be final. No further revision or amendment and/or exchange of version to the submitted copy will be allowed.
2.3 GENRE
Fiction, documentary, experimental and animation are all welcome.
Commercials are not accepted.
2.4 DURATION
The maximum duration is 59 minutes.
2.5 PRODUCTION & COMPLETION DATE
The film must be completed on or after 1st January 2023.
2.6 SUBMISSION DETAILS
Vimeo or Youtube link is accepted.
For an Entrant who submits a film via Vimeo or YouTube, the video link and password (if any) provided must remain valid from the date of submission until the date of announcement of the result. The film will not be considered if the link or the password is invalid for any reason.
2.7 SUBTITLES
Dialogues not in English or Cantonese must be subtitled in English.

(3) ENTRY ELIGIBILITIES
3.1 Entrants must be 18 years old or above.
3.2 Entrants must be the film director or main creator/ artist of the entry.
3.2 NATIONALITY
The director of the submitted film must be a holder of the Hong Kong Identity Card. The director must submit a photocopy of HKID card for eligibility verification. HKAFF reserves the right to disqualify any submitted work if the director fails to provide such documents. In cases that the submitted film has more than one director, at least half of the directors must be Hong Kong Identity Card holders.#
#HKAFF has the sole and final decision in relation to issues which have not been covered in the Details and Regulations. HKAFF reserves the right to revise such regulations at any time.
3.3 DECLARATION
Selected Entrants will be requested to sign a Terms and Conditions Agreement for their final participation at the HKAFF 2024. The Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

(4) DISCLAIMER
By submitting, the Entrant shall release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless HKAFF, and its agents, respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, contractors, venues, partners, sponsors, and volunteers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including, without limitations, attorneys' fees). You agree to be bound by these guidelines and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects and to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the rules.
By submitting, the submitter constitutes that the Entrants information is true and correct and agrees to all selection rules and guidelines.
