Grove & Pines Film Festival (GAP) is a community-led celebration of LGBTQIA storytelling, launching in 2026 on Fire Island.

We welcome films of all formats and genres, created by queer artists and allies, that reflect the full spectrum of queer life with a concentration in short films.

Set against the backdrop of Fire Island — a place of history, beauty, and unapologetic queer expression — the festival channels the island’s unique mix of intimacy and energy, art and allure.

The Pines and Cherry Grove are more than destinations; they’re living archives of queer creativity, resistance, romance, and desire. By gathering here at the end of each season, we create space to reflect, connect, and celebrate the stories that shape us — and seduce us

Rules & Terms

GAP accepts submissions from queer filmmakers and allies whose work centers, uplifts, or engages with LGBTQIA themes, experiences, or communities.

Films must be in English or have English subtitles at the time of submission.

All entries must be submitted via FilmFreeway.

Submission does not guarantee selection.
