The Grizzdance Film Festival is unique opportunity for emergent filmmakers in the metro Detroit area. The festival is programmed by a team of Oakland students with festival expertise, working alongside the faculty of the university's Cinema Studies program. Our goals are to:

- Provide a showcase for young filmmakers to screen their work in a thoughtfully curated environment with maximum opportunity for feedback from audiences
- Offer professional development opportunities for emergent filmmakers to expand their artistic networks, interact with fellow filmmakers, and discuss their work with OU Cinema faculty
- Recognize outstanding work at the high school level through the awarding of juried prizes

Overall Rating
  • A great film festival made by people who are pationated by film making. Even though the film festival wasn't that big, they were actually many film school teachers, producers, and film makers. It was a great experience!

Great festival! My crew and I had been looking forward to this festival for awhile and it didn't disappoint. Good venue, very open and friendly, good people running the event and an all around positive atmosphere for young filmmakers to chit-chat and lay ground work for the future.
