GVFF is expertly curated, and beautifully executed. We were amazed by the quality of all the festival's selections, and when we learned IT'S NOT UP TO US won Best Short Documentary, it was an incredible honor. The films are top notch, the festival personnel are wonderful, and The Quad Cinema is a perfect host — whether as filmmaker or filmgoer, it doesn't get much better.

The Greenwich Village Film Festival is not to be missed! The quality of the shorts that were shown from all over the world was stunning, and it was an honor to be among the chosen films. The fest directors were wonderfully communicative, warm and welcoming, and getting to screen at NYC's iconic Quad Cinema was a dream. I can't say enough good things about this festival, and would love to participate in it again if I'm so lucky!

  • I think what sets this festival apart is the quality of the curation. They had one of the best lineups I've seen so far. They also screened the most international selection I've seen yet - and this, in my opinion, contributed to the caliber of work presented. It is a small festival that I believe will grow based on the excellence of the work. The festival directors were very warm at the screenings and the communication overall was quick and clear. After each screening, there was a gathering at the bar in the theater. Highly recommend this festival - especially if you're a local NYer because they would benefit from drawing a local audience and it's a great one to invite your people to.

Thank you so much Nessa for your words. We loved screening your film and meeting you! Wishing you all the best and keep up the great work!

  • GVFF is a gem! You are in good hands with Alessia, Richard, Michael and all the fine folks of GVFF (very, very good hands and kind and loving arms!). A wonderfully diverse line up of films, venue: unbeatable (The Quad – c'mon!), and it must be acknowledged that their communication is exceptional. You and your film will not feel like shelf-fillers. Our team looks forward to a rich working relationship with GVFF for years to come.

  • I have had the great fortune to be included in this festival for 6 out of the 7 years they have been around. This is truly my favorite festival to be a part of. I grew up in Greenwich Village, and to be able to screen my work downtown has been a complete privilege and joy. The founders and programmers who run this festival are simply the best. They show unwavering support for independent filmmakers of all backgrounds and have always supported and championed my work. For that I am extremely grateful. The festival has screened at some fantastic venues over the years, including the IFC Center and the Quad Cinema. Highly recommend submitting to this fest. Thank you, GVFF!!
