Greenwich Village Film Festival celebrates Greenwich Village as a physical place, as one of the most photogenic neighborhoods of New York City.
But, more important, as a creative state of mind born in a specific location that gathered like-minded people together to stimulate individual and collaborative artistic expression.
Our mission is to honor and keep alive this sense of community and creative environment by discovering and bringing together new independent artists and their work.

Awards for the best in each category will be given at the festival closing ceremony.

I can't imagine a more wonderful experience than having my very first film accepted as an official entry in the GVFF, which is what happened to me this year ! From the first thrill of notification, through the final night, it was such a happy journey. The GVFF team was welcoming and helpful in providing materials to use in my social media posts, including many wonderful photos of the event as keepsakes. As a GVFF attendee for all the years it's been in existence, I'd always appreciated the quality of the films selected for the screenings, and this year being a participant was a heady thrill that only added to the enjoyment. My film MY FAIR MOTHER: A DANCER NAMED MAXINE BERKE played to a sold-out house that gave it a terrific reception, which for me, was reward in itself. Thank you GVFF, for this amazing honor.
