Coming this January 12-14, the Green Country Film Festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for film enthusiasts and creators alike. Kicking off January 12th, with a public showing of Alexander Payne's comedy classic Election. On January 13th and 14th, the action moves to two unique screening locations on the scenic Canebrake campus, where a curated selection of compelling features, shorts, and documentaries will be showcased. The suspense culminates at 5 p.m. on January 14th when the winners of our four coveted awards—Best of Festival, Best Short, Best Documentary, and the Jury Prize—are announced. As the final credits roll, we'll celebrate all things cinematic at our wrap party. Green Country Film Festival Rules & Terms

Eligibility

1. Films must have been completed after January 1st of the prior year.
2. All genres and formats are welcome, including feature films, short films, and documentaries.
3. Films that have been commercially released or broadcast on a national network are not eligible for entry.
4. The festival has no premiere requirements; however, preference will be given to films that have not yet had wide exposure.
5. Filmmakers of all levels of experience are welcome to submit their work.

## Submission Guidelines

1. All films must be submitted via the festival's official submission platform by the stated deadline.
2. Films must be submitted in high-quality digital formats, such as MP4 or MOV.
3. All non-English language films must have English subtitles.
4. Filmmakers may submit multiple entries but must complete separate submission forms and pay separate entry fees for each film.
5. Films should be submitted in their entirety, including credits. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

## Awards

1. Four awards will be presented at the festival: Best of Festival, Best Short, Best Documentary, and Jury Prize.
2. The Best of Festival award will be granted to the best overall film, as decided by the festival jury.
3. The Best Short award will honor the best film with a running time of 40 minutes or less.
4. The Best Documentary award will recognize outstanding non-fiction storytelling.
5. The Jury Prize will be awarded at the discretion of the festival jury and may consider any aspect of the submitted films, including creativity, innovation, or social impact.

## Rights & Responsibilities

1. Filmmakers retain all rights to their films.
2. By submitting to the festival, filmmakers grant Green Country Film Festival the right to screen their film and to use clips or stills for promotional purposes.
3. Filmmakers are responsible for securing all rights and permissions for their submissions, including but not limited to music, locations, and talent releases.

## Disqualification & Withdrawals

1. Failure to comply with the festival rules and terms may result in disqualification.
2. No refunds will be given for disqualified films or for withdrawals after the submission deadline.

## Legal Agreement

By submitting a film to the Green Country Film Festival, the submitter agrees to abide by all festival rules, guidelines, and terms, and certifies that all information provided is accurate.
