This is a Canadian national film festival that will take place in 11 Canadian cities simultaneously.

The Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada (GIFFT) is a showcase and celebration of Greek cinema and filmmakers of Greek Heritage. This festival will provide exciting platform for directors, writers, producers, and actors of Greek Heritage to showcase their exceptional art right across Canada. .

OPPORTUNITIES FOR FILMMAKERS
In addition to networking events and top-notch screening facilities, the festival will provide filmmakers with the opportunity to promote their work on Agape Greek Radio (www.agapegreekradio.com), an online radio station that promotes Hellenism internationally.

Rules & Terms

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Film must have a director, screenwriter, producer or lead cast member that is Greek or of Greek descent (diaspora).

2. All films submitted must have been completed within four years prior to the festival dates.

3. Films must not have had a public screening in Canada prior to the festival.

4. Films must not be or have ever been publicly available online.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All non-English speaking films must have English subtitles.

More than one film may be submitted, but each must be submitted via a separate submission project on FilmFreeway.

If your film is selected to be screened at the festival, you will be required to provide a copy of your film, a short synopsis, film stills, and a director's bio with a headshot.

Filmmakers must submit an online screener of their film through FilmFreeway.

The entry fee is non-refundable. Please pay the entry fee through FilmFreeway.

Selections, dates, times and locations of screenings will be at the sole discretion of the festival organizers. Once a film is selected, the film cannot have a screening in Toronto prior to the festival.

    Thank you so much for playing our short film "One Bag" back in October! We were super happy to be able to talk about our film with Omni TV, and enjoyed participating in the networking events, meeting other creatives, and meeting with Stanley and others of the staff.     What an unforgettable experience the Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada turned out to be! We attended the Toronto festival where they screened our feature, Scarpedicemente (Thank you for the Best Canadian Project award!!!), in a gorgeous cinema (they showed it in Halifax too but we couldn't make it to that one). Networking opportunities galore! Food, drinks, bouzouki, interesting people and remarkable filmmakers. This festival, however, had the fewest number of attending filmmakers of any we’d been to. The packed theatres were filled with paying customers instead!!! Yes, that's right! Festival Director Stanley A. Papulkas, Festival Coordinator, Dora Konomi, and the rest of the incredible team work very hard to inform and motivate the Greek community. In turn, the Greek community makes serious efforts to support artists! And it’s no wonder, the lineup of films was outstanding! High quality work is offered here.
