Gothamite is a fresh, international film festival based in NYC. We’re all about promoting filmmakers and screenwriters who want their work seen globally.

Because our screenings are limited, only selected winners will be showcased live in NYC 2024. We don’t do monthly screenings, though.

Each month, Gothamite gives filmmakers a shot to win a custom laurel, a printable certificate, and promotion on our social media.

Our mission? To support and spotlight filmmakers from all backgrounds and ages.

Filmmakers can also share trailers and posters for their films to get even more exposure.

Winners get announced on our social media every month.

Films in the Official Selection and winners will be chosen at the end of each month, so filmmakers will know right away if they’ve been selected.

Awards & Prizes

WE SEND NOTIFICATIONS & LAURELS AND CERTIFICATES EVERY MONTH

ALL PARTICIPATING SUBMISSIONS GET 'OFFICIAL SELECTION' LAURELS.

Each month our jury will carefully select filmmakers and their projects that our committee will find the most compelling. Awards will be given in multiple ‘Main Categories’. Also, every submission can add an unlimited amount of ‘Additional Sub-Categories'.

Every Award Winner will receive our Official Certificate and Laurel via email. The certificate will be ready for printing, posting on social media, and advertising on the website.

Winners of each month will be advertised throughout our social media with poster posts, photos from the film, directors & producers promotion.

Moreover, Monthly Award Winners of 'Best feature film of the month' and 'Best short film of the month' will automatically be entered into our 'Best of Year' selection in their respective categories. Please note only the finalists of these categories will have their work screened at the yearly online event. The yearly winners will be interviewed and this interview will be posted on our website.

Every 'Best of Year' Winner will be listed on our website for the next whole year and will be promoted on our social media platforms.

Rules & Terms

Please read the rules before submitting your work:

All the movies are evaluated following the category specification. Sub-category submission must be added to a main category. A sub-category without the main category won't be considered.

Judging decisions will not be explained.

Films can be submitted to multiple categories.

You can submit multiple projects.

Feedback on selection decisions will not be provided.

We don't require premiere status.

Please submit the director's statement and image, description of the project with all the specifications, promo photos/videos of the project.

If you decide to make any changes to your movie you have to go through the submission process again.

If the film makes it to the official selection, the filmmaker will be notified via the contact method listed in the submission form.

Films must be made in or after 2022.

Gothamite accepts movies in all languages. If the film is not in English it must have English subtitles by the time submitted. Gothamite doesn't cover any subtitling expenses.

Gothamite takes the quality of films very seriously. We only accept HD films, so any movies below 720p resolution with poor audio quality will not be considered.

Submissions for the festival must be accompanied by the submission fee and a filled online entry form. Films must be submitted via online streaming services such as Youtube, Vimeo, etc (using a private link) or via FilmFreeway submission platform.

Gothamite encourages all the filmmakers to send us promotional material such as posters, stills, trailers, and teasers so we can fully promote the movie. Gothamite reserves the right to use any promotional materials on our website, social media, and press releases.

Applicants are responsible for having all the rights and permissions for all third-party materials in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights.

By submitting a film you give us rights to screen it in front of a live audience during the festival if selected for the program.

Films of the 'Official selection' will be notified via email which was listed by the applicant.

Once the project is submitted, submission cannot be canceled or refunded.
Gothamite doesn't waive any submission fees. This rule applies to all applicants.

Gothamite has the right to add, alter, change, or delete any portion of the guidelines at any time without notice.

The Festival reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project for any Festival program or submission category.
