HAKKINDA

Gaziantep Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi’nde onuncusu düzenlenecek olan “Altın Baklava Film Akademisi X. Uluslararası Öğrenci Film Festivali’’, genç bir kültür-sanat etkinliğidir. Üniversite öğrencilerinin hazırladıkları belgesel, kurmaca, animasyon ve yapay zeka alanlarındaki kısa filmlerin ödüllendirileceği festivalin amacı, genç yönetmenleri yeni filmler üretme yolunda heveslendirmek, sinemaseverlerin ilgisini çekmek, sinema sektörünün gelişmesine katkıda bulunmak ve genç sinemacıların ulusal ve uluslararası platformlarda tanınmasını sağlamaktır.

Bu yıl festivalimizde ilk defa “KIPKISA” adını verdiğimiz özel bir kategori yer alacak. KIPKISA, süresi 90 saniyeyi aşmayan filmleri kapsamakta olup, özellikle sinema öğrenimine yeni başlayan, yolun başındaki yaratıcı isimlere yönelik bir alan olarak tasarlanmıştır. Bu kategori öğrencilerin, sınırlı kaynak ve zamanla düşünsel yoğunluk taşıyan anlatılar kurma ve “daha kısa” biçimde yaratıcı potansiyeli görünür kılmalarını hedeflemektedir. KIPKISA, görsel kültürün hızla dönüşüm geçirdiği dijital çağda sinemanın değişen üretim biçimlerine ve yeni anlatı dinamiklerine dair güncel yaklaşımları teşvik eden bir platform olarak konumlanacaktır.

Altın Baklava Film Akademisi Uluslararası Öğrenci Film Festivali, tüm dünyadaki sinema okullarından öğrencilerin de katılımıyla uluslararası nitelikte bir festivaldir. Festivalimizin hem Gaziantep’in, hem de ülkemizin uluslararası eğitim ve sanat platformlarında tanınmasına aracılık etmesi en önemli amacımızdır.

Sinemaya ilgi duyan, sinema ile uğraşan, sinema ile tanışmak isteyen gençlere kendilerini göstermek için bir fırsat oluşturan Festival ve Film Akademisi, finale kalan genç sinemacılara çeşitli atölye çalışmalarına katılarak kendilerini geliştirme ve Türkiye’nin önde gelen yönetmen, yapımcı, oyuncu kadrosundan oluşan jüri üyeleri ile tanışma imkanı da sunmaktadır.

ABOUT

The Golden Baklava Film Academy 10th International Student Film Festival, to be held at Hasan Kalyoncu University in Gaziantep, is a vibrant cultural and artistic event that celebrates young talents. The festival aims to honor short films produced by university students in the categories of documentary, fiction, animation, and artificial intelligence. Its primary objectives are to inspire young directors to create new works, engage cinema enthusiasts, contribute to the development of the film industry, and support the recognition of emerging filmmakers on both national and international platforms.

This year, for the first time, the festival will include a newly introduced special category titled “KIPKISA.” Dedicated to films with a maximum runtime of 90 seconds, KIPKISA is designed as a creative space particularly for newcomers to film education and early-career creators. The category encourages students to craft intellectually rich narratives using limited time and resources, while making visible the expressive power and creative potential of ultra-short cinematic forms. Positioned as a forward-thinking platform, KIPKISA supports contemporary approaches to the evolving modes of film production and storytelling in a digital age marked by the rapid transformation of visual culture.

With participation from students of film schools worldwide, the Golden Baklava Film Academy International Student Film Festival has established itself as a truly international event. One of its most significant aims is to contribute to the global visibility of Gaziantep and Türkiye in the fields of education and the arts.

The Festival and Film Academy offers young people—whether already involved in cinema or just discovering it—an opportunity to showcase their work and talents. Finalist filmmakers are invited to participate in various workshops, providing a valuable space for professional growth and creative exchange. Additionally, they have the opportunity to meet and interact with members of the jury, composed of leading directors, producers, and actors from the Turkish film industry.

TEKNİK ŞARTNAME

Altın Baklava Film Akademisi 10. Uluslararası Öğrenci Filmleri Festivali Katılım Koşulları
1- Festival, Türkiye’de veya yurtdışında öğrenim gören lisans ya da lisansüstü üniversite öğrencilerinin katılımına açıktır.
2- Festival, 2023-2024-2025 akademik öğretim dönemlerinde mezun olan öğrencilerin filmleri dahil olmak üzere, yalnızca üniversite öğrencileri tarafından üretilen filmlerin katılımına açıktır. Filmin üretim yılında filmin yönetmeni resmi olarak öğrenci olmak zorundadır. (Fakülte, Bölüm, Üniversite bilgileri film jeneriğinde bulunmak zorundadır).
3- Festivale katılacak filmlerin süresi en fazla 20 dakika ile sınırlandırılmıştır.
4- Festivale başvuru ücretsizdir.
5- Daha önce başka bir yarışmaya başvuran ve / veya ödül kazanan filmler de festivale katılabilir.
6- Yarışmaya katılacak filmlerde çekim formatı konusunda herhangi bir kısıtlama bulunmamaktadır. Ancak filmler 16:9 / 4:3 / 2:35, FullHD formatında gösterilecektir.
7- Filmler H.264 veya .mov formatında en az FullHD (1920x1080) çözünürlüğünde olmalı, filmlerin mutlaka online video izleme (Vimeo, YouTube vs.) platformlarında izlenebilir olması gerekmektedir.
8- Yarışmaya gönderilen film ile birlikte öğrenci belgesi, filmin en fazla bir (1) dakika uzunluğundaki fragmanı, filmden .jpeg formatında en az beş (5) görüntü, poster/afiş (en az 50x70cm 300dpi çözünürlüğünde), filmin .jpeg formatında kamera arkasından en az beş (5) adet görüntü, sinopsis (.doc ya da .pdf formatında), yönetmen biyografisi ve yönetmen fotoğrafı gönderilmesi zorunludur.
9- Başvurular yalnızca FilmFreeway platformundan gerçekleştirilecektir.
10- Yarışmaya 2023 yılı ve sonrasında üretilmiş filmler katılabilmektedir.
11- Yarışmacılar birden fazla film ile festivale katılabilir.
12- Filmlerin gösterimi orijinal dilinde yapılacaktır. Ancak filmlerin İngilizce altyazıya sahip olması zorunludur.
13- Yarışmaya gönderilen filmler Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi arşivinde saklanacak ve Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi tarafından aşağıdaki haklar korunacaktır; Altın Baklava Film Festivali'nin halka açık basılı ve çevrimiçi medyasında görsellerin kullanılması, fragman/film görsellerinin kullanımı, seçilen filmlerin gösterimi.
14- Yarışmaya son katılım tarihi 9 Kasım 2025 saat 23.59’a kadar olup, belirtilen tarihten sonra gerçekleşen başvurular değerlendirmeye alınmayacaktır.
15- Filmler 22 Kasım 2025 tarihine kadar Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi tarafından görevlendirilmiş ön eleme jürisince değerlendirilecek ve finale kalan filmler belirlenecektir.
16- Festival programına alınan filmler Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi Altın Baklava Film Festivali internet sitesinde (www.altinbaklava.hku.edu.tr) duyurulacak ve finalistlere FilmFreeway ve e-mail yolu ile duyuru yapılacaktır.
17- Festival jürisi birden fazla filme ödül verme ve mansiyon ödülü gibi ekstra ödüller verme hakkını saklı tutar.
18- Festivalin yürütme hakkı Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi’ne aittir. Festival sırasında oluşabilecek her türlü sorunla ilgili kesin karar verme hakkı Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi’ne aittir.
19- Film gösterimleri esnasında üçüncü şahıslardan kaynaklanabilecek telif hakkı sorunları, başvuruyu yapan kişinin ya da filmin yönetmeninin sorumluluğu altındadır. Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi, telif haklarından kaynaklanacak sorunlar ve benzeri sorunlar için sorumlu tutulamaz.
20- Seçilen filmler 10. Uluslararası Altın Baklava Film Festivali’nde gösterilecektir.
21- Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi yönetimi, katılım koşullarında her türlü değişiklik yapma hakkını saklı tutar. Yarışmada her kategoride dereceye giren ilk üç (3) kişiye ödül (Ödül & Katılım Sertifikası & Plaket) verilecektir. Festival jürisi gerekli gördüğü takdirde her dört kategoride “Mansiyon”, “Hasan Kalyoncu Özel Ödülü” de verebilir. Ayrıca festival kapsamında öngörülemeyen değişiklikler festivalin resmi web sayfası olan altinbaklava.hku.edu.tr üzerinden duyurulacaktır.
22- 10. Uluslararası Altın Baklava Öğrenci Filmleri Festivali’ne katılım koşulları yirmi iki (22) maddeden oluşmaktadır. Her başvuru sahibi bu koşulları kabul eder.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Golden Baklava Film Academy 10th International Student Film Festival Participation Terms 1. The festival is open to submissions from undergraduate and graduate (Master’s/Ph.D.) students studying in Türkiye or abroad.
2. The competition is open only to short films (fiction, documentary, animation, or AI-based films) produced by university students, including those who graduated in the 2023–2024–2025 academic years. The director of the film must have been officially enrolled as a student during the year the film was produced. The name of the faculty, department, or university must appear in the film credits.
3. The maximum duration for each submitted film is 20 minutes.
4. Participation in the festival is free of charge.
5. Films that have previously been submitted to or awarded in other festivals are also eligible to apply.
6. There are no restrictions regarding the shooting format. However, films will be screened in Full HD in one of the following aspect ratios: 16:9 / 4:3 / 2.35.
7. Submitted films must be in H.264 or .mov format, with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080). Additionally, the films must be viewable via online video platforms (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).
8. The following materials must be submitted together with the film:
Student certificate, Trailer (maximum 1 minute), At least 5 stills from the film in .jpeg format, At least 5 behind-the-scenes photos in .jpeg format, Film poster (minimum size 50x70 cm, 300 dpi resolution), Synopsis (in .doc or .pdf format), Director’s biography and a portrait photograph.
9. Submissions will be accepted only via the FilmFreeway platform.
10. Only films produced in 2023 or later are eligible for submission.
11. Participants may submit more than one film.
12. All films will be screened in their original language. However, all submissions must include English subtitles.
13. Submitted films will be archived by Hasan Kalyoncu University, and the university reserves the following rights: Use of visuals and trailer/film stills for printed and online media related to the Golden Baklava Film Festival; Public screening of selected films; Inclusion of selected films in the university’s institutional archive.
14. The submission deadline is November 9, 2025, at 23:59 (Istanbul Time). Late submissions will not be considered.
15. Films will be evaluated by a pre-selection jury assigned by Hasan Kalyoncu University by November 22, 2025. Finalist films will be selected accordingly.
16. Films selected for the official program will be announced on the official festival website: www.altinbaklava.hku.edu.tr and finalists will be notified via FilmFreeway and e-mail.
17. The festival jury reserves the right to award multiple films and to grant special recognitions, such as Honorable Mention awards.
18. The organizational and executive authority of the festival belongs to Hasan Kalyoncu University, which holds the right to make final decisions on any issues that may arise during the festival.
19. Any copyright issues arising from third-party materials used in the films are the sole responsibility of the applicant or the film’s director. Hasan Kalyoncu University shall not be held liable for any disputes related to copyright or similar issues.
20. All selected films will be screened as part of the 10th Golden Baklava International Student Film Festival.
21. Hasan Kalyoncu University reserves the right to make amendments to the participation rules. The top three films in each category will receive awards (Award & Certificate of Participation & Plaque). If deemed appropriate, the jury may also award Honorable Mentions and the Hasan Kalyoncu Special Prize. Any unforeseen changes will be announced via the official website: www.altinbaklava.hku.edu.tr.
22. Participation in the 10th Golden Baklava International Student Film Festival is subject to the 22 articles outlined above. By submitting a film, each applicant is deemed to have accepted all conditions in full.

Participating in the Golden Baklava Film Academy was an incredible experience. From the moment I was selected as a finalist among more than 1,800 submissions, the communication and hospitality were world-class. The festival organization went above and beyond by fully facilitating my travel and stay, inviting me to Gaziantep to present our animation Cell Buddies, in person. Being part of such a prestigious international competition—alongside top film schools from around the globe—was a true honor. The jury, consisting of prominent directors, and industry professionals, shows the high level of the festival. Winning the First Prize in the animation category was a true highlight. But even more of a highligh was the warmth of the people, the professional organization, and the unique platform they provide for young filmmakers to connect and celebrate together. I met so many amazing people and highly recommend this festival to any filmmaker looking for a professional, hospitable, and high-level international stage.

The accommodation and hospitality were excellent. There was a strong sense of competition among the students; there was a lot of rivalry even among the younger students. Although we couldn't watch all the films due to some special circumstances (time constraints), overall it was a pleasant festival for student filmmakers, and we hope it will be even more successful and open to development in the future. I would like to extend my best wishes and thanks to the entire festival team.
