Go Short is the main short film festival in the Netherlands. The 19th edition of Go Short will take place on 6-11 April 2027. During the festival days, Europe’s best and freshest short films are being screened. The best short films go home with one of the Go Short Awards. Aside from the competitions, Go Short offers an extensive program of events, talks, educational activities, workshops, parties and meeting points for filmmakers, the audience and other stakeholders.

Go Short - International Short Film Festival Nijmegen is an Oscar, BAFTA and EFA qualifying festival.

* The winners of these awards are eligible for the Academy Awards in their respective categories.

Films are eligible for Go Short competitions if:
- The film is no longer than 30 minutes.
- The film is (co-)produced in (geographical) Europe.
- The film has clear-spoken English dialogue and/or commentary, or has no dialogue. In case of non-English dialogue (or unclear spoken English), English subtitles are mandatory. If the film has Dutch dialogue, the subtitles are only required after a selection.
- The film is finished after 1 December 2025.

  • This was an exceptional experience! I loved it so much. It was awesome to be hosted by people from the city. Networking was so easy at the festival! Everything is well organized. I hope to be able to visit the festival again someday in the future!
