We, as Global Indian Film Festival, have a fundamental belief that cinema is beautiful and storytelling is diversely serene. We are at the end of the second decade of the 21st century and we believe that its time that new age experimental story tellers and artists are given their rightfully deserved audience. Our aim through this festival is to reignite the love for cinema which has somewhere been blurred due to the commerce of the trade. After all, DADASAHEB PHALKE did not make the first Indian film, RAJA HARISHCHANDRA with the purpose of earning money. Passion is what drives us, and we are looking to meet and celebrate passion through the medium of cinema.

Welcoming talented film makers from India across the Globe to showcase their narratives, short films, feature films, documentaries, animation, of any genre, any length, any medium of shooting, to come forth and submit your films. If your work has merit and you have passion, we have a platform for you. This festival is a platform to provide an open environment for directors, writers, actors, technicians, film appreciation enthusiasts and anyone who has a zest for cinema. Let’s network and talk about cinema and also let’s vow to bring another new wave through our work.

  • GLOBAL INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL SHOULD BE A BLACK LIST FESTIVAL IN INDIA.I have submitted my film 'Harshit' with a good amount of submission fee. After few months we received a call from their side and they informed that your film is going to win an award in best film category but to attend this festival you have to pay money. We received mail from their side too. We need necessary agreement to attend this program. We didn't agree to pay money. So they didn't call anybody to attend this program.Even they didn't screen our film.Just think you have to spend money to make a film. You have to spend money to send any film festival after that you have to spend money to attain your own film screening. Is it not funny for any short film maker?
We have participated lot of film festival but nobody asked to pay money at our own film screening.

    Response from festival:

    Dear Dhruva,

Firstly, the registration fee and the film screening is not interlinked to each other. We have a team of experienced professionals who have spent long years in the industry, and dedicated their time to watch each and every piece of content received. Once the films are shortlisted for screening we inform the film makers on the same, like it was done with you. We charge a minimal amount as registration fee towards attending the festival as a means to raise funds to organize a good program and provide film makers like you a platform to showcase your work and connect with the right stakeholders. This was communicated to you on phone too. We did screen your film however you chose not to register and therefore as per our policies we could not allow you to attend the festival. Our team repeatedly explained the same to you but its sad to see you still lack understanding of policies. Most of the festivals have a registration fee to attending the festival and it is no alien. We would request you to kindly not post such false comments for reputable brands and discourage talented film makers from reaching the right platform.

Wish you all the best for your future endeavors.

  • Although I was not able to attend I found everyone very helpful to me and I was pleased I could send in a short video that explained my film that was shown prior to people watching 'The Selfie Project'.

  • Two different screens running simultaneously divided the audience and non-popular filmmakers didn't get enough viewers.
