Global Health Film Days is Denmark’s film festival about global health topics. The films selected represent contemporary themes within global health – from infectious diseases, climate change, and refugee health to mental health, reproductive health and rights, non-communicable diseases, medical tourism and much more.
The purpose of the festival is to experience the power of storytelling in shaping our understanding of health and humanity. From intimate personal narratives to sweeping global issues, the films aim to inspire, challenge, and ignite conversation that transcend traditional ways of thinking.
With a week of film screenings, as well as a selection of expert panel discussions, keynote speakers, and interactive and creative activities, the festival is a place for dialogue where the public can discuss global health topics with each other and a range of stakeholders including decision-makers, researchers, public health experts, educators, journalists, artists, private sector representatives and NGOs.
The festival is organised by the University of Copenhagen’s School of Global Health and it takes place in Cinemateket, The Danish Film Institute. The festival team consists of festival coordinators from the university, student curators, and programme editors from Cinemateket.
