Glasshouse is run by filmmakers for filmmakers, with a focus on fairness, accessibility, and championing fresh voices.

Before the in-person event, audiences will be able to watch all officially selected films online during the festival window and vote for their favourite for the Audience Choice Award.

All films submitted to the festival become official selections, unless disqualified for violating the festival’s rules.

Each category winner will receive a professionally designed digital certificate recognising their achievement, which can be used on IMDb, social media, press kits, and personal websites.

- We accept short films up to 15 minutes in length (including credits).
- International submissions are welcome.
- All non-English films must include English subtitles.
- Multiple submissions are permitted. Each entry must be submitted separately with its own fee.
- By submitting, filmmakers confirm they own the rights to all content in their film and have obtained all necessary permissions, licences, and releases.
- Submission fees are non-refundable, including if a film is withdrawn or not selected.
- All films will be screened during the online festival unless disqualified for rule violations, copyright infringement, technical issues, or inappropriate content.
- Films containing sensitive material (violence, self-harm, sexual content, flashing lights, etc.) must include an appropriate content warning in the submission notes.
- The festival programming team reserves the right to disqualify films containing hate speech, discriminatory content, or illegal material.
- Premiere status is not required.
- Screening files must be delivered in .mp4 or .mov format.
- The festival may request an alternative screening file if the submitted version has technical problems.
- Filmmakers grant the Glasshouse Film Festival permission to use stills, the film’s poster, and short clips (up to 30 seconds) for promotional purposes only.
- Filmmakers retain full ownership of their work.
- Award winners will receive digital certificates.
