Pribek, lived in the U.S. two times, including a stint where his car doubled as his home in L. A, all in pursuit of his dream to become involved in film. While living the “Hollywood lifestyle” (or at least parking near it), he managed to write three screenplays, including this one. But being a street performer on Hollywood Boulevard, hustling tourists for tips, eventually lost its charm. Realizing that his big break wasn’t coming anytime soon, he sold his trusty car, returned to Vienna, and used the cash to fund his first short film, At the Strawberry Stand.
That film kicked off a whole new chapter in his life: plotting and creating his first feature film, Who was Herbert?. Since then, Pribek has embraced the triple life of a filmmaker, actor, and musician, while still working as a caregiver for people with disabilities. Hollywood didn’t give him a star, but Vienna sure gave him a story.
