RULES:
1. Short films must be exclusively of the comedy genre or its variations (dramatic comedy, horror comedy, acid comedy, etc.).
2. Short films must not be longer than 15 minutes.in the case of international shorts, or 25 minutes in the case of national shorts (Ecuador).
3. There is no limit of short films that each participant can register, but an individual submission procedure must be followed for each work. All applications during this edition will be free.
4. Only short films made between 2020 and 2023 will be accepted. The last day to submit a short film in this edition will be May 31, 2023.
5. Entries are accepted in any language with Spanish or English subtitles. In case the short film is selected, subtitles in Spanish will be required for its projection.
6. We will accept registrations only through the FilmFreeway platform. Any extra information can be requested to: gicoffestival@gmail.com
6.1. In the case of being selected, you must also send the following information to the email gicoffestival@gmail.com:
- technical sheet (word, txt, pdf), 3 stills of the short film (JPG), the poster (JPG), a download link (including the password). Putting as subject: "GICOFF SHORT SELECTION - Name of the short-"
6.2. The file format must meet the following characteristics: Quicktime H.264 (.mov), or mp4, specifying the original aspect ratio (widescreen or standard), with a minimum resolution of HD (1080x720p). This copy must be sent by a free service such as wetransfer, google drive or a private link from vimeo (enabling the download). The Festival will not pay any charge for downloading the material.
6.3. By being part of the official selection, the graphic material sent may be used to promote the festival on our social networks and in future editions of GICOFF.
6.4 All selected short films will receive a digital stamp certifying their participation in the Festival.
7. The jury will be compose of professionals from the artistic world, who will be known through the Festival's networks before it begins.
8. The jury will award the prize for the Best International Comedy Short Film and the Best Ecuadorian Comedy Short Film. If the jury considers it pertinent, a special mention will be awarded. In addition, the public will also choose, through the Audience Award, the Best International Comedy Short Film and the Best Ecuadorian Comedy Short Film.
9. In no case the Festival will pay for the exhibition rights of the short films.
10. The Festival programming team will choose the times and dates in which each short film will be screened during its course.

BASES:
1. Los cortometrajes deben de ser exclusivamente del género de comedia o sus variaciones (comedia-dramática, comedia de terror, comedia ácida, etc.).
2. Los cortometrajes no podrán tener una duración mayor a 15 minutos en el caso de los cortos internacionales, o 25 minutos en el caso de los cortos nacionales (Ecuador).
3. No hay límite de cortometrajes que cada participante pueda inscribir, pero se deberá seguir un procedimiento de envío individual por cada trabajo. Todas las postulaciones durante esta edición serán gratuitas.
4. Se aceptarán únicamente cortometrajes realizados entre 2020 y 2023. El último día para poder postular un cortometraje en la presente edición será el 31 de Mayo de 2023.
5. Se aceptan inscripciones en cualquier idioma con subtítulos al español o inglés. En caso de que el cortometraje sea seleccionado se requerirán subtítulos en español para su proyección.
6. Receptaremos las inscripciones únicamente por medio de la plataforma FilmFreeway. Cualquier información extra puede ser requerida a: gicoffestival@gmail.com
6.1. En el caso de ser seleccionados, deberán enviar además la siguiente información al correo gicoffestival@gmail.com:
- ficha técnica (word, txt, pdf), 3 stills del cortometraje (JPG), el poster (JPG), un link de descarga (incluida la contraseña). Poniendo como asunto: "SELECCIÓN CORTO GICOFF - Nombre del corto-"
6.2. El formato del archivo debe cumplir las siguientes características: Quicktime H.264 (.mov) o mp4, especificando la relación de aspecto original (widescreen o standard), con una resolución mínima de HD (1080x720p). Esta copia deberá enviarse por un servicio gratuito como wetransfer, google drive o un link privado de vimeo (habilitando la descarga). El Festival no correrá con ningún cargo por descarga del material.
6.3. Al formar parte de la selección oficial, el material gráfico enviado podrá ser utilizado para promoción del festival en nuestras redes sociales y en futuras ediciones del GICOFF.
6.4 Todos los cortometrajes seleccionados recibirán un sello digital certificando su participación en el Festival.
7. El jurado calificador estará conformado por profesionales del medio artístico, que se darán a conocer a través de las redes del Festival previo a su inicio.
8. El jurado otorgará el premio a mejor cortometraje internacional de comedia y al mejor cortometraje ecuatoriano de comedia. Si el jurado lo cree pertinente se entregará una mención especial. Además el público elegirá también a través del premio de la audiencia, el mejor cortometraje internacional de comedia y el mejor cortometraje ecuatoriano de comedia.
9. En ningún caso el Festival pagará por derechos de exhibición de los cortometrajes.
10. El equipo de programación del Festival elegirá los horarios y fechas en que cada cortometraje será proyectado durante el transcurso del mismo.
