If you love spending time with your pets and making films this is the right film festival for you.

Our unique annual collection of shorts about animals will celebrate filmmakers who have,pets, work in pet industry, support causes, or simply love animals.

In addition to our live festival, FRFF has recently acquired a Roku channel dedicated entirely to films about animals. Top 200 shorts will be featured on our channel throughout the year in different programming slots. We hope to promote veterans and also open the door for pet owners/ animal lovers who want to try their hand at something more professional.

Expect a one day event with animal themed screenings, panels from industry professionals and charities, a reception with awards and prizes.

We advise everyone to get their submissions in early to give us / yourselves as much time as possible. We are looking for creativity in their story telling. If you are going to use your cell hone please shoot in 4k.

All 30 finalists receive small pet themed prize baskets from our sponsors.

Our bigger prizes will go to the winners in the following categories.

The final 3 winners will receive prizes and also 2 weeks of PR through our personal network with over 10 years in the industry.

BEFORE SUBMITTING:

Your film must be 5 minute maximum. Reach out with any questions.

The Fur Reel Film Festival (FRFF) screens on DCP (Digital Cinema Package). Our venue, Laemmle NoHo7 use Christie 4K projectors. Please do not submit to our live programming
if you cannot provide the Festival with a DCP if selected.

FRFF25 SUBMISSION BASICS

1 – All completed submissions received by September 3 th, 2025 will be considered for The Fur Reel Film Festival 2025 (FRFF2025).

2 – Submissions not in English must have English subtitles.

3 - Multiple submissions are accepted!

4 - If selected to FRFF25, you will be asked to sign an Acceptance Agreement within five (5) business days of initial contact. Failure to do so forfeits acceptance.

5 – The filmmakers accept responsibility for all trademark and copyrighted materials, shown or recorded, on the project and have the necessary releases for a theatrical screening.

6 - Official selections will be asked to provide a DCP approximately four (4) weeks prior to the festival.

7 – While we will always ask first, Filmmakers agree that their film, or clips from it, and all other material related to their project may be used and/or published in the event program, FRFF website, social networking sites, blog, or for other Festival promotional purposes.

8 – We ask that you participate in FRFF as much as possible. If you’re unable to attend your screening, try to have representative attend in your place. Please support your peers and celebrate independent cinema.
