Funartt Film Awards (FFA) is an international short film event celebrating bold and original voices in independent cinema. The June 10, 2026, live screening event will take place in Portland, Oregon, United States, showcasing a curated selection of outstanding short films from around the world. There is a short film discussion after the screening event.

The Funartt Film Awards (FFA) event was founded by George Nicol - a filmmaker with over 20 years of experience, more than 40 completed short films (Funartt.com), and numerous awards from international film festivals. His passion for storytelling, combined with a strong desire to discover and support new talent, inspired him to create a film awards event dedicated to seeing new stories and talent emerge in independent cinema.

(Emerging Filmmakers Support Program: FFA is now supporting emerging filmmakers by offering free entry to a few selected participants. To apply, send an email to filmawards@funartt.com with the subject “Emerging Filmmakers Support Program.” To apply, include a short introduction about yourself and your film, along with links to your film and your FilmFreeway profile. We’ll review your request and get back to you soon if you’re selected for a free entry to our current event.)

Thank you so much for selecting “Children of the Rooftop Cinema”!!
I couldn't make it to the film festival, but I was truly delighted that you screened my work. I was especially happy that you recognized it as a fantasy piece.
