I am honored to have been part of the 2024 Free Speech Film Festival. The festival stands out for its dedication to celebrating powerful stories and fostering meaningful conversations about democracy, freedom, and social justice.

The team at Free Speech Film Festival, led by passionate and professional organizers, created an engaging and supportive experience for filmmakers. The communication was seamless, and their efforts to promote films and directors were outstanding.

The event itself was inspiring, gathering a diverse and thoughtful audience that contributed to a rich exchange of ideas during the Q&A session. Winning the Free Speech Award for my film Iceland, On the Trail of Democracy was a deeply rewarding experience, and I am grateful to have been part of such a remarkable platform.

I highly recommend this festival to filmmakers who want their voices to be heard and their stories to resonate on a global scale.

I’m so honored that my film was chosen as a finalist at the Free Speech Film Festival. This festival truly stands for the spirit of free expression, fostering dialogue and showcasing diverse perspectives—something that aligns perfectly with the message of my film.

The team behind the festival was amazing! They went above and beyond with dedicated blog pages, interviews, and promotion to help filmmakers like me share our work with a wider audience.

A big thank you to the organizers and everyone involved for creating such a supportive space for storytellers. This has been an incredible experience, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it!

Attending the 2024 Free Speech Film Festival was a unique experience for me. This festival pursues very lofty goals and I think it will achieve very good results. I had an interesting conversation about the film “From Cradle to Grave” with Ms. Karen Curry. I appreciate her seriousness and follow-up. I thank Ms. Kelly Kostanesky Communications Manager. I also thank Ms. Susanne Engheta for the criticism and perspective they had on my film and for guiding me. And the letter contains important notes from Ms. Chew Barringer that inspired me for my next film. All these dear people made a lot of effort. I thank them all. As a suggestion, I can say that more support can be given to independent filmmakers who make films with personal budgets and difficult conditions. Efforts can be focused on ensuring that the source of inspiration for each film is the filmmaker’s personal experience and perspective on issues. Unique stories to tell must be deeply felt and understood by the filmmaker in the beginning. Cinema should be considered as an art form and not as a means of public comment on regional and global tensions and challenges. Only then can it have small but profound and lasting effects. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the organizers of this unique festival.
