Founded in 2016, the Forest City Film Festival enters its 11th year in 2026. Based in London, Ontario, FCFF celebrates the art of cinema through a regional lens, showcasing compelling work by filmmakers connected to Southwestern Ontario alongside outstanding national and international films.

FCFF is a regional film festival dedicated to building film culture in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Our in-competition feature and short film categories prioritize films with a meaningful connection to the region. Films that were produced in the region or meaningfully engage with the region are also eligible. Subject matter is not restricted to Southwestern Ontario, and films are not required to have been shot locally.

In addition to our regional competitions, FCFF presents Best of the World Fests, a curated non-competitive category open to filmmakers from anywhere in the world. This section highlights standout films from major international festivals and celebrated global cinema, offering local audiences access to exceptional work beyond our regional focus. Recent films to play in this category include; Sentimental Value, No Other Choice and Sirat.

All official selections screen to a paying audience. Filmmakers who attend their screening are eligible to receive a percentage of box office revenue—win or not, we pay when filmmakers participate.

The Forest City Film Festival is a Canadian Screen Award–qualifying festival, proudly supporting filmmakers at every stage of their careers while fostering a vibrant and sustainable film culture in Southwestern Ontario.

Wonderful festival with an international and regional focus. We were so proud to premiere The Wreck of Harold Murphy in the shorts competition and have our lead actor/musician, Ron Leary, perform a song to open the fest at the gala. Very supportive staff and volunteers, highly recommended.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience screening my film at a festival. I would like to thank Ethan, Jackson, and Amelia for all of their hard work making me feel comfortable and excited for the world premiere of my movie. I'm looking forward to returning in the coming years. I would highly recommend them :)
