Since 2006, FOKUS Film Festival has been an annual event run by Student Television at Mcgill (TVM). The festival is designed by students to celebrate short-form work that has been made my filmmakers based in Montreal. Submissions are now open.

This year, FOKUS will take place on March 26th, 2026 from 7pm-10:15pm, at Cinéma du Parc. The festival is comprised of a screening and an award ceremony followed by an afterparty.

It also includes a 72 hour film race. More info on the contest can be found at https://www.fokusfilmfestival.com/. This will take place the weekend before the week of the festival, from March 13th to March 15th, 2026. Sign up for the contest will open shortly.

Rules & Terms

Rules for Submission:

- Films must be made by Montreal-based filmmakers.

- Films must be 15 minutes or less.

- Films must be submitted by March 6th at 11:59 PM EST.

    Yesterday, I attended the Fokus Film Festival by TVM for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. The movies were great, and the festival team was professional, organized and attentive. It was an honor to have my movie, “La ligne”, be awarded “Best performance”. Thank you for this special night!
