From the first time filmmaker to the seasoned professional - Flinders Flicks is open to everyone!

The rules are simple:
- films must be no longer than 3 minutes
- include titles and credits
- include the Flinders Flicks theme somewhere along the way - this year its CYCLE interpretation is entirely up to the filmmaker!

Now in its 8th year, Flinders Flicks is emerging as one of the most popular events on the Flinders Island social calendar. The gala event – the showing and judging of films is on Friday on 13th August at the Furneaux Arts & Entertainment Centre. It’s a free community event the whole island attends!

A panel of judges will choose the "Best Festival Film", "Best Use of the Theme" the "Judges Encouragement Award " "Young Filmmaker Award" and the "Best Local Film". the audience will play the important role of critic to select the "Peoples Choice Award" with prizes being awarded to these films.

    As my first film festival I was impressed at the local support and more impressed when I took out a major prize. There was a great MC, terrific food and drinks, and happy family vibe. I am really looking forward to not only entering again this year but also attending.
