Flicks Daily brings you the very best in Entertainment News, all day, every day and now it’s proud to bring to you the Flicks Film Festival all year, every month.

Why wait a full year to know if your entry is a winner?

The Flicks Film Festival wants to bring you that news as soon as possible and that is why we have created the Flicks Film Festival to be a monthly competition with all winners being automatically entered into our annual event.

Each month our judges will select the people and projects that make the best impact on them as their go through every entry. There will be awards in several ‘Main Categories’, and every submission can add numerous ‘Additional Categories' to showcase each and every department and thus increasing the probability of coming out a category winner.

Each and every Monthly Award Winner will receive our Official Certificate (digital format) ready for printing, be listed on our web site, promoted via our social networks and will have their wins added against their listed projects on IMDb.

Additionally, all Monthly Award Winners will automatically be entered into our 'Best of Year' selection in their respective categories. Please note only the finalists of the 'Main Categories' will have their work screened at the event and overall winners of said categories will walk away with our specially designed trophies at our prestigious Gala Event (or for the cost of p&p can be sent to an address of your choosing - if supplied).

All Best of Year Winners will be listed on our web site for the next whole year and promoted across our social media platforms (if social media links have been supplied).

The Flicks Film Festival is an IMDb qualifying competition hosted out of the UK, celebrating independent films worldwide with a huge range of awards for various categories and genres. We were already delighted that our debut documentary (The Village on the Loch) had won five categories in one of Flicks monthly editions:: Best Documentary, Best Editing, Best Producer, Best Family Film and Best Narration. For our three man team at Mousehole Films, working with a non existent budget, it was an enormous validation of what we managed to achieve. But to go on to win three Best of Year categories as well and make Runner Up in the other two was simply awesome! Thank you. We hope Flicks Film Festival goes from strength to strength and continues to support and champion, low budget, independent film making. Caroline Strong - Director

  • I wish we could have attended the event but I'm sure it was great. Our film "Cuentos de la Bruja" picked up Best B-Movie of the year award and we thank the directors and judges of Flicks Film Festival for this honor.

I cannot help but feel a little unsettled about this festival. First of all there is hardly any direct communication. You have to go and check the facebook page of the festival to see what’s going on.
Secondly as a film maker you want your film to be screened. And this festival had been very vague about the venue. In the end (without notification from their site) it became clear that only the main categories are screened at all (and not publicly I presume).
The whole experience to me has been a bit disappointing. My film ended up as winner of the year in the category ‘best historical film’. Obviously I am very gratefull, but all I got to show for it is a laurel.
I want people to SEE my film. And with this festival nobody really did. And unfortunately this has not been completely clear from the beginning.

    Response from festival:

Dear Stef thank you for your candid review of our first film festival. I am personally sorry to hear your experience was not a good one. I cannot excuse our admin staff and their lack of communication. However, our rules, prizes and event updates have always been on our Filmfreeway page and there to read before you even choose to enter our festival. It states that only Main Category winners will have a live screening for those who attended to watch and the date and venue were on public display for 10 months. That is not to say we did not make mistakes on our first event that we will grow from nevertheless the facts have always been there.

I am sure the world will get to see your film upon it's release and we wish you and your film the best of luck when it does.

    Our warmest regards
    The FFF Team
