Lift-Off Sessions is designed to be the entry into the Lift-Off Global Network. Sessions is a monthly online showcase dedicated to screening a collection of globally submitted indie shorts and features (of all genres) from new voices to our global audiences.
Lift-Off Sessions isn't about selecting the best possible shorts or features from the films submitted to us; it is about providing a screening opportunity for everyone. An option we hope highlights and educates each month.
With startling data on declining audience figures for indie films, we decided to extend our resources to cater to all with an all-encompassing and welcoming platform where everyone can see the type of work and varying elements from as many projects as possible.
All selections will get an invaluable opportunity to engage with a wide range of contemporaries' work while supporting indie film and its continued success.

Winners are placed on the shortlist for the Lift-Off Season Awards Nominations and considered by the Lift-Off Jury for a relevant SA nomination. Lift-Off Season Award nominations screen at Lift-Off's HQ, the prestigious Pinewood Studios, during the celebration held at the end of the Lift-Off Season.

Sessions is held online via Vimeo On Demand. With a guaranteed screening for all submitters, the films are judged by the official judging panel and receive scores from the attending audience. After the festival closes, the weighted scores are combined, and the top-scoring films are awarded.

Participating filmmakers may invite their team, friends and family to participate & vote. All attending audiences are encouraged to engage with as much content as possible and vote accordingly.
