This years' First City Film Festival was a fun experience. I'm thankful to of been chosen for a festival. Sadly there was flooding that cause the festival to migrate just across the street but through all the chaos of the move I believe FCFF handled it very well. Tisha and the board were very friendly and a great host. Thanks again FCFF!

  • This festival emphasizes and supports local filmmakers primarily in Leavenworth/Lansing, Kansas, and the greater metropolitan Kansas City regions, and is the most welcoming atmosphere to those visiting from outside the region. You would be hard-pressed to find more HEART than this festival. This second year had venue flooding, but faced the challenge of emergency evacuation like a champ. Filmmakers are valued and treated like true VIPs.

The First City Film Festival did a great job this year! There was a challenge in that the venue had to be changed due to the Missouri River flood, but “ come hell or high water” the festival went on. As a first time filmmaker, I felt that all the extras such as the filmmaker breakfast, filmmaker panels and the opportunity to network made this a wonderful experience for me. I truly felt that the festival committee really showed their appreciation for the filmmakers with all the little extras. In addition, to be able to show my film in my own community was a dream come true. Thank you for honoring me with the “Andy Entwistle Spirit Award.” I have truely found a new passion and it was because of the First City Film Festival.
