The Films Diplomacy Conference (FDC) is an international event that brings together 120+ filmmakers, diplomats, policy makers, and cultural leaders to explore the powerful role of cinema in promoting peace, dialogue, and sustainable development. FDC provides a platform for creative voices from around the world to engage with themes such as diplomacy, human rights, global culture, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Over the course of the conference, participants will attend workshops on film and diplomacy, collaborate in a 24-hour short film challenge focusing on peace, culture, and social impact, and engage in discussions about the role of media in fostering global understanding. The event culminates in a red-carpet awards ceremony where outstanding films and filmmakers are recognized.
Film Submission Opportunity:
Prior to the conference, FDC will open its doors to filmmakers globally for pre-made film submissions via FilmFreeway. The submission window will remain open for 4 months, encouraging international filmmakers from all continents to participate.
The top 10 films selected through this submission process will receive Honourable Mentions and will be officially recognized during the Red-Carpet Reception and Awards Ceremony on Day 3 of the conference in Istanbul.
Beside the Films Diplomacy Conference 24-Hour Short Film Challenge, Films Diplomacy will also shortlist the best 10 films from the pre-submitted entries for these award categories.
