** 20th Anniversary Season of Filmed by Bike (2022) **
We are planning on holding an in-person festival in Portland, Oregon over the weekend of June 9-12, 2022. We will keep you updated as things evolve. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to navigate the state of physical gatherings and film exhibition during this time. For those who submitted films, we will be notifying filmmakers of their acceptance status on February 28th, 2022. Thank you!
Filmed by Bike is a film festival based in Portland, Oregon that features the world's best bike movies! Screening annually at the historic Hollywood Theatre over a single weekend every May, we curate an inspiring collection of films and award the best of the year. After our main event, the selected films then go on tour to over 40+ cities worldwide.
Over the course of a busy weekend, we host filmmaker events, a bike ride, after parties and three days of film programs at The Hollywood Theatre. Filmmakers from around the world flock to Portland for this spirited event, an opportunity to meet other filmmakers, share filmmaking tips and explore Portland by bike with local bike enthusiasts.
Film submissions come from independent filmmakers worldwide. Submissions are accepted year round with the deadline of January 20th for the following yearβs program. Hundreds of international entries are submitted every year, and the very best (around 60) are featured in our programs. A panel of esteemed jurors makes that tough decision. Entries are evaluated by an esteemed jury of bicycle and film enthusiasts. We accept Jury nominations every fall.
Filmed by Bike movies are now seen all over the world and our screenings regularly sell out. We are so proud to be a part of this global bike movement.
