Film With Pride showcases LGBT+ films from established and new filmmakers to diverse audiences across Liverpool City Region - online through our #FilmFriday programme as well as our in-person screening events across the region which will return once COVID19 restrictions allow.

Submissions are now open and will remain open until October 2021.

If your film is of UK original and you wish it to be considered as our choice for the IRIS Prize, you need to submit it by 1 June 2021.

Following a successful first year of online screenings, our programme has addressed topics including life and loss in lockdown, isolation, identity, navigating the challenges of falling in love and the intersection between race and sexuality.

For 2021, our theme ‘From Now On’ aims to bring LGBT+ life to the forefront of everyone’s minds and raise awareness of what we can all do to defeat the barriers LGBT+ people face here, and around the world.

Submissions are welcomed from filmmakers of all backgrounds, mediums and experience levels and we have two categories - LGBT+ Films from the UK and LGBT+ Films from around the World.

Film With Pride programmer, Joan Burnett, said: “We have already seen some incredible submissions from new and established filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. We have seen films created in days during lockdown, animations and documentaries and we have been blown away by the standard of submissions.

“Living in such challenging and unprecedented times, we know that creativity is thriving and understand the importance of film as a medium to communicate experience and encourage understanding. We want to use our platform to amplify as many new voices as we can and encourage submissions from all.”

Film with Pride is part of LCR Pride Foundation. Registered charity 1185167.
