WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We seek documentaries that are local or locally connected to San Diego, whether by location, cast, crew, or theme.

San Diego is known for its vibrant cultural scene, stunning coastal landscapes, and diverse communities. Our city has a rich history and a dynamic present, offering a wealth of stories waiting to be told. From the bustling urban life of downtown to the serene beauty of Balboa Park and the historic charm of Old Town, San Diego provides a unique backdrop for compelling documentaries. By highlighting local perspectives and experiences, these films can capture the essence of what makes San Diego a special place to live and visit.

Although there are no awards or prizes, films selected to be featured on KPBS or on the PBS online platform are eligible to submit your program for consideration for Regional Emmy Awards.

DETAILED ELIGIBILITY
Documentary films released after January 1, 2015 are eligible for consideration for Film Consortium TV programming. Films should have a clear San Diego and/or Northern Baja California theme or wider theme that clearly affects the San Diego region (example: California drought).

INTENDED USAGE
Films submitted to Film Consortium TV will be considered for broadcast on KPBS and streaming through the PBS App either through compilations (short films), interstitials, or in their entirety. Once selected, filmmakers will be asked to sign a non exclusive licensiagreement that gives Film Consortium TV and KPBS the right to the following:

Broadcast: the non-exclusive right, in the Territory during the License Term, to broadcast, rebroadcast, transmit or otherwise make the CONTENT available via FCSD’ (a) public television station, (b) satellites, including without limitation direct broadcast satellites (“DBS”), (c) noncommercial cable station, and (d) live linear broadcast streaming on digital platforms (e.g. PBS Video App, YouTube TV).

On-demand streaming: the non-exclusive right, during the License Term, to make available for on-demand streaming of the CONTENT and/or excerpts on FCSD.org and the PBS Video App CONTENT library platforms without charge to the viewer.

Digital use: the non-exclusive right to make the CONTENT and or excerpts available for use on digital and social media platforms and channels. (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube).

DISQUALIFICATION
Film Week reserves the right to disqualify films for any reason and without explanation.

REFUNDS
All submission fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

We cannot guarantee that any media and materials provided will be returned unless specific requests are made.
