This year the 3-Day Fiesta SATX Film Festival will run the first weekend of the the largest party in the world—Fiesta San Antonio, an electrifying 11-day citywide celebration that draws over 3.5 million visitors from across the globe. With vibrant parades, live music, cultural showcases, food tastings, and historic battle reenactments, Fiesta San Antonio is an unmatched spectacle—and now, the Fiesta SATX Film Festival is positioned to be an essential part of the experience.

As we enter our forth year, this time as an official Fiesta San Antoon event, we’re more committed than ever to uniting filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences who share a passion for bold storytelling. Our mission is clear: to discover and elevate films with the potential for greater success—whether it’s turning short films into pilots for streaming and television or transforming feature films into long-term series.

We welcome not only newly produced films but also hidden gems—projects that have been sitting on the shelf, waiting for their moment. If your film has the power to captivate, we want to help take it to the next stage of production and monetization.

Beyond awards in multiple categories, we’re introducing an exciting new tradition—crowning a King and Queen of the Fiesta SATX Film Festival. These honorees will receive exclusive networking opportunities, making appearances at Fiesta San Antonio events in crown and sash, where they can forge valuable industry connections.

And because film and music are inseparable, the festival experience extends beyond the screen. Attendees can immerse themselves in a diverse lineup of live bands and artists, or view our art exhibit, creating a truly one-of-a-kind, three-day cinematic and cultural celebration.

And in 2025 we added the finals of our year round search for the Duke and Duchess of Song who also are crowned to be on the court of our Fiesta SATX Film & Music Festival royalty.

The Fiesta SATX Film Festival isn’t just another festival—it’s a movement. A platform. A launching pad. And one of the most exciting and high end artist festivals you’ll ever attend.

JUDGES OVERALL AWARDS:

All genres will be judged together for the following categories:

A. Best Actor
B. Best Actress
C. Best Supporting Actor
D. Best Supporting Actress
E. Best Director
F. Editing
G. Original Music Score
H. Best Sound Editing
I. Best Cinematography

GRAND PIÑATA AWARDS

Fiesta SATX Film Festival will award Grand Piñata Awards chosen by the Judges and Board.

A. 1st Place
B. 2nd Place
C. 3rd Place

One PEOPLES CHOICE will be awarded.

SPECIFIC GENRE/CATEGORY AWARDS

Any genre/category which has three submissions or more will be judged for "Best In" the specific genre/category it was originally entered under.

Should there be less than three entries in a category/genre, the entries will be judged for "Best In" under the OtherCategory

All submissions will be accepted for consideration as an "official selection" at Fiesta SATX Film Festival through FilmFreeway.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All entries must be submitted through the FilmFreeway link provided and must meet the following criteria.

Indie Production

Potential to be a series

Shorts must be between 5 - 40 minutes

Feature Films must be over 41 minute plus

Animations can be 2+ minutes

a 15-30 second promotional trailer must be included

Vertical promo poster 350 dpi jpeg must be submitted

Original Soundtrack

High quality video in HD or 4k

Additional 30-50 minute script ready a plus

Non English language films must be subtitled in English

No pornographic content as defined by the US Supreme Court

Festival judges will evaluate and score all submissions.

Pilot Representative must specify which Genre they will enter.

LEGAL

By submitting filmmaker certifies that they have read and agree to abide by the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Pilot Representative Agreement, and full rights to enter and make all decisions pertaining to the pilot submission.

TIMELINES

All submissions must be entered within the time frames specified.

GENRE COMPETITION

All Genres will be judged under the awards categories.

JUDGES

Judges may not contact the competitors for any reason. If a judge contacts you, you must report it to the festival officials immediately.

ATTENDING THE FESTIVAL

A representative from films who are Official Selections are encouraged to attend. Attending will be at their own expense.

WINNING ENTRIES

The objective of the festival is to discover projects that may be adaptable to a streaming or television series. We intend to work with the winning entries to create and /or find on-line and television distribution for a series. In the event the film is picked up for a serial production, the filmmaker must be open to allowing recasting and shooting a series in Texas.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Indie entries will be accepted beginning July 08, 2025 until the deadline on FilmFreeway and will be scored on a scale from 1-10 in various categories.

Rules and Regulations are subject to change at the discretion of the board.
