We are sad to announce that we must postpone the 2021 edition of The Fickin Film Festival. Because the Democratic Republic of the Congo is currently at level 4 (high risk), the government has asked that no public gatherings be held. We have re-scheduled it for November 2-8. Selections have already been made and international guests have booked tickets.
The festival is held annually in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The name stands for Festival International de Cinéma de Kinshasa. Entries in any language accepted if subtitled in English or French. We do not require French subtitles, but they are very helpful to our audiences. Though some of our judges speak English, many do not. The festival itself is conducted in French and Lingala.
The producers of this festival are working for the emergence and the visibility of cinema throughout the African continent and especially in the DR-Congo. It is open to submissions from around the globe, Entries in the 7th edition of the festival came from twenty-two countries.
