Fatima Hye is a Bangladeshi-American Muslim female filmmaker who grew up in Houston, TX. She got her BA and MA from the University of Houston, majoring in Philosophy, minoring in Psychology and Media Production. Her films tend to be artsy/philosophical, but with a darker or edgier style/atmosphere. Her featurette "Animalium" screened at the Victoria, TX Independent Film Festival and is currently available on Tubi, Plex, and Apple TV. Her psychological art horror feature "Abortifacient" was picked up for distribution by Summer Hill Entertainment under the international name "Coming to Term", currently streaming on major platforms in North American and UK territories. Recently, her experimental short "Count the Ways" premiered at the Lost River Film Festival, her cooperative film "The Players" is available on Plex TV, and she has completed two features: an art horror anthology called "Cryptic Triptych", which was awarded a Feature Film Production Grant from Austin Film Society and featured on Dread Central, and a psychological body horror feature called "Ana & Mia", which received a Support for Artists and Creative Individuals grant by the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance and was shown at a Preview at Rice Cinema through the Houston Cinema Arts Society. She is currently developing a philosophical biopic about a mathematician called "Aleph".
