The Fairfield Film Festival showcases innovative films and filmmakers from around the world, around the country, and around the corner, during our annual four-day festival held in the culturally vibrant town of Fairfield, CT. Hidden gems, foreign cinema, indie darlings, and more—memorable films you likely won’t see anywhere else.

Programming includes a thoughtful selection of features, shorts, animation, and documentaries—films that entertain and inspire moviegoers through compelling visual storytelling.

The inaugural four-day Fairfield Film Festival premieres on Thursday, November 4 and runs through Sunday, November 7, 2021, offering an exceptional roster of films, intriguing industry guests, panel discussions, and nightly parties. Films will be screened in the beautifully renovated, century old, 400-seat SHU Community Theatre located in the heart of downtown Fairfield. We're a very filmmaker friendly festival and dedicated to making film professionals —directors, writers, producers, cinematographers, actors, editors, designers, and crew — feel welcome should they be able to attend FFF. We'll work with you to help market and promote your film. FFF is proud to be a 50/50 filmmaker gender parity festival and we are fully committed to equity, diversity, access, and inclusion.

All entries are screened/read and selected by a team of dedicated filmmakers and experienced viewers with an eye to discovering extraordinary films and highly produceable screenplays. Entries are judged on a point system for craft, originality, and storytelling.

Fairfield is a picturesque and sophisticated town of 62,000 that expands to 500,000 within a 25-mile radius, and located just 56 miles from New York City. Our main screening venue, the SHU Community Theatre, is a block from the Metro North station, which provides easy access from the city and beyond. The town is large enough to offer great amenities such as charming restaurants, cool bars, and great shopping, while small enough to be pleasantly walkable and super friendly.
