RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS
1.Films submission
The productions sent must be feature or short films, from any nationality, that have comedy as central genre, who can be linked with any other genre or subgenre, like action, thriller, romance, drama, horror, documentary, animation, etc.
The films submitted must have production date January 2025 onwards, and all of them may have been screened at other festivals or samples, but not in previous editions of Funcinema.
The Festival don’t pay fee.
The selected films will be part of the library of the festival for display in different itinerant exhibitions to be held during the year (until September 2027).
Films which has not had a release date in Argentina or an easy access in Internet, will have priority.
The sent productions must be in the following formats: .avi / .mov / .mpg /.mp4. The films must have Spanish subtitles. If the Spanish subtitles are not possible, can send English subtitles in a separated file from the video.
The participant authorizes the organization Funcinema to, without any compensation or payment, make public their name, voice or likeness in any media (television, graphics, Internet or any other) created or to be created, at its discretion, without limitation of time or territory for the promotion of its exhibition within the festival.
2.About the International Short Film Competition
According to the selection team, shorts films which arrive during the pre-selection stage and deserve it for their artistic values, will integrate the International Short Film Competition.
Winners will be chosen by a specialist jury linked to the audiovisual universe.
The awards will be Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Performance and Best Gag; and People´s Choice Award.
3.Jury
The jury will be composed of three (3) specialists who can be directors, interpreters, journalists, film critics, writers, or representatives of any item related to audiovisual production.
The jury vote is secret and it will be final. The winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held on September, and the jurors agree not to publicly express their opinions regarding the films submitted for consideration before the official announcement of the award.
4.People´s Choice Award
The People´s Choice Award will be selected among the shorts that participate in the International Short Film Competition.
Spectators will score each short film that is on screen: (the ratings will go from 1 to 10).
The amount of points of each short is divided by the number of viewers who vote. The short film that improve the average points will be the winner of the People´s Choice Award.
In case of having a tie in the average of points, the winner of the Prize will be the one that has been voted by the most spectators. If the draw continues, the award will be given ex aequo.
