The registration to the 6th Edition of the Francigena Film Festival will officially open on OCTOBER the 1st, 2024. The FRANCIGENA FILM FESTIVAL will take place on 2025 In in SAN GIMIGNANO, the city of towers, located in the heart of Tuscany along the VIA FRANCIGENA and in COLLE DI VAL D'ELSA, the city of Arnolfo Di Cambio.

La Sesta Edizione del Francigena Film Festival si terrà nell'affascinante cornice di San Gimignano, la città delle torri unica al mondo e situata proprio lungo la Via Francigena, da cui parte la Tappa 32, e a Colle di Val d'Elsa, città di Arnolfo Di Cambio.
It is a singular chance to visit this unique landscape and the Via Francigena 32° Stage: from San Gimignano to Monteriggioni, among the most fascinating of the Via Francigena, during the Festival “kermesse”.

The Francigena Film Festival will in fact be an opportunity for meetings and side events about the Journey and cinema: nature, culture, food, wine.

Our inspiration is “the Journey” even intended as the Path, in all it's different parts: the freedom of interpretation is up to the Filmmakers, Directors and Authors.

The Creator and Artistic Director of the Francigena Film Festival is Giovanni Guidelli: actor, author and director.
Our jurors are among the best professionals of the italian film industry.
We will announce the names of our Jury of the 6th EDITION during spring 2025.

We only care about quality shorts, intelligent vision, experimentation and authorial style. We can assure you that being selected here means that your film has all that is needed to be recognized as an author's film.
The FRANCIGENA FILM FESTIVAL will take place in Italy, in SAN GIMIGNANO, in the heart of Tuscany, and in Colle di Val d'Elsa, the city of Arnolfo Di Cambio.

*The FRANCIGENA has been certified "Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" in 1994-
The Via Francigena was a communication path which contributed to the cultural unity of Europe in the Middle Ages. Today, the Via Francigena is considered as a bridge between the cultures of the Anglo-Saxon Europe and the Latin Europe.
That is why the Programming Committee decided to name FRANCIGENA this new Film Festival.
Prize will be awarded for the best Short Film.
Special mentions will be assigned to: best director, best actress, best actor, best photography, best screenplay, best editing.

There will be an audience award and mentions assigned by our media partners too.
The festival counts on the help of media-partnerships and cultural partners in the area.
So... if you love real experience, real Cinema, real e-motions... we are looking for you: your travel IDEA (travel and journey in their different meanings: in the future, back to past, escape, love, mental journey, ecc...)

Theme or subject of the Short Films: FREE THEME

Our inspiration is the journey, in all its different declinations: from a physical journey to an interior and mental one. A journey to discovery, to rediscover. A journey in the past, in the future. A hopeful and tasteful journey, a spiritual and an emotional one. All the “journeys” intended as the path of life. Since we celebrated the 700 years of Dante... “Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita...”, but every people has a story of a journey in their history, and storytelling belong to humanity since the mists of time. Here is a Festival that combines all of the different cinematic and narrative souls under one track: the journey.

E' aperta l'iscrizione dei Cortometraggi alla Sesta Edizione del Festival Internazionale di Cortometraggi Francigena Film Festival.
Il tema dei cortometraggi è libero, con ispirazione al Viaggio o al Cammino, in ogni più ampia declinazione: viaggio nel passato, nel futuro, viaggio della speranza, alla scoperta, alla riscoperta, viaggio mentale, viaggio psichedelico, ecc...
Si accettano cortometraggi della durata massima di 25 minuti, titoli compresi.

One category can be submitted to the Festival:
-Short films with a running time from 1 to 25 minutes.

The submissions for the 6th Edition of the Francigena Film Festival will be possible from October 2024 the 1st till July 15th 2025 only on the FilmFreeway online platform.

Projects submitted must be the original work of the participant, not ended before the 31 December 2022.
L'Iscrizione dei cortometraggi è possibile solo attraverso la piattaforma FilmFreeway.
Si accettano cortometraggi prodotti o realizzati DOPO il DICEMBRE 2022.

All films submissions from foreign countries (from all around the world and language) must necessarily be subtitled in English* (* or in Italian Language sending SRT Code). An exception will be admitted for films in Italian, which do not need to be subtitled.

If your Film will be selected in OFFICIAL COMPETITION and is not in italian language, we kind ask at least ENGLISH Subtitles.
By submitting the film to 6th FRANCIGENAFILMFESTIVAL 2025 you confirm to own the rights of the film.
▪ Producers and/or author, if the short is selected for the final stage of the festival, must declare to be solely responsible for all rights regarding his work and must declare that the movie does not contain any third-party rights.

Only finalist Short films will be screened in an open air cinema in SAN GIMIGNANO, the famous, amazing medieval town in the heart of Tuscany; the wine famous landscape between Florence and Siena... FFF is a public international event with the presence of the press, TV and the authorities.
• If accepted entrants grant without reservations, to the FFFestival, the right to use the movie, footage, stills and/or titles, and information from the Film for promotional purposes (in this case, an email will be sent to the author).
I Cortometraggi vincitori saranno presentati e proiettati durante la serata di Premiazione.

Due to present the best screenings it's possible that the Official Program can be modified at the discretion of the organizers.
Any possible changes will be communicated in time.

▪ The judgement of the jurors is unchallengeable

• FRANCIGENA Film Festival will provide the best quality projection possible but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection, nor will fees be refunded in any such case.

For the selected Authors who want to enjoy a long trip in Tuscany, accommodation with special offer will be available.

6th FRANCIGENAFILMFESTIVAL 2025 reserves the right to make any necessary changes, add, alter or delete any portion of the guidelines at anytime without notice to the final event.
• The festival management declares that any personal data provided will be used in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 as subsequently amended, and in accordance with art. 13 GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and will be processed exclusively for the purposes of the Festival.

The entry fee is fixed at 18€ per each submission (early deadline), than 20€ inside regular deadline and 22€ Extended deadline.
