Submissions to the fUTure of Utah Filmmakers' Showcase must be 25 minutes or less in total runtime and completed within the last year, or 2022 or later.
Submissions must be filmed in Utah and made by Utah resident filmmakers 18-25 years of age, or by recent graduates or current undergraduates from one of Utah's institutes of higher learning. Participants can submit more than one film, but must limit each film to one category.
By submitting to the FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival the filmmaker acknowledges that they own all of the rights and clearances for their IP including music utilized in the film and authorize the use of the short film's publicity materials including poster, key art, stills and trailer to be utilized by the UFC for the FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival's promotional purposes including but not limited to local, national and international press and electronic media.
All materials (including but not limited to photo stills and the submitted film) will be retained by FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival and will be used for various promotional purposes, including but not limited to For films selected for the festival, The FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival reserves the right to screen the entry at the festival and to include the work in retrospective programs at future festivals. FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival may also use portions of accepted films for festival and tour montages. FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival will retain a copy of the film for the permanent library, along with all promotional materials. The individual submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity and screening. By submitting the above-named film for entry in the 2024 Focus on the FOCUS ON THE FUTURE Film Festival, you agree to be bound by the terms stated on this entry form.
